For those of you who stay in a hotel on your way to Disney, do you make reservations or just show up? I know it would be good to have a room reserved, but you never when traffic or any number of things could slow you down, so it's hard to say exactly how far you'll get in a day. Are the rooms around Savanah filled up in advance?

We always make reservations in advance when driving to WDW along Interstate 75, because this way we can stay where we want and since we always stay at Hampton Inn's we already know they are all very clean and it's great knowing they have their hot and cold continental breakfast each morning. Plus some the Hampton Inn's we stayed at have sold out the nights we were there, so it was great that we had made reservatons in advance.

We make reservations at hotels that have at least a 4pm arrive day cancel time. This way if we don't get as far or can go farther we have the option to cancel and stay somewhere else.

If we are planning on stopping we usually book on the way down, but the way home we don't. Never know how far we will want to drive.

We leave next week and booked @ night at Baymont Inn and Suite in Savannah, they do have a 4pm arrival day cancellation policy.

Thank you for the responses. I hadn't thought about hotels that accept same day cancellations. That sounds like a good plan.
