Hotel status and points accural

I see a lot of ABDs stay at Hilton and Marriott properties, are we able to earn points or get status upgrades on these stays?

Same here as @OKW Lover and I’ve even asked...seems group travel bookings do not earn points even though we are still paying for the rooms.

Even though we don’t get points, I always let the hotel know my rewards number when I check in on an ABD or pre/post night even if I paid thru ABD. That way I am able to get some of the perks if they are offered. So far, I’ve gotten free WiFi (when not included) and welcome gifts. When I did the Australia ABD, the Pullman hotel in Cairns told us to sign up for their rewards program if we wanted free WiFi which wasn’t included with the room. I did and it was worth signing up.

I think it's because you're not paying for it directly. Disney (or their contractor) is paying for it under some corporate, low rate.

We have done 6 ABDs. For our stays at Marriott we go to the front desk and give them our Marriott rewards number at check-in to get credit for any personal charges, request room upgrades (dh Marriott Titanium) and access to club level.

We have always been given access to club level at all the Marriott brand hotels except Ritz Carlton. Our biggest upgrade room wise was at the Ritz Carlton in Chengdu, China. We were given the 1200 sq.ft. corner suite but no access to club level.
