Hotel Specifics - Marriott/1 Bedroom/Bunk Beds

Trying to narrow down hotels to Marriotts so we can use points.

We want to find 1 Bedrooms that have a separate living area that can also sleep 2 kids on separate spaces. Kids will be 6 and 8. A pull out sofa and a chair sofa or bunk beds. Or something else I'm not thinking of.

I see the Marriott Courtyard has a 1 Bedroom with bunk beds in the living area - that works.

I am only familiar with the Fairfield Inn's walking distance, so looking for something that's a similar distance.

How is Springfield Suites?

I've stayed at 4 SpringHill Suites in the past few months, but not around Disneyland (yet) and so far they have all be great, we are staying at the SpringHill Suites Maingate (off of Ball Road) the other one is SpringHill Suites at Anaheim Resort/Convention Center off of Habor, that one does offer some very kid friendly rooms. But it's a Category 5 vs the other one being a Cat 4. I've stayed at the Sheraton, next door, and the walk was easy for me. I find the rates at the SHS by the convention center to be really high, but I'd say check it out and see if they have availability.

The SHS Maingate does offer a 1 Bedroom Suite, 2 Queen, Sofa bed option.

I stayed at the Residence Inn Anaheim Convention Center in June 2017. Its one of the newest hotels in the area and was not even in the process of being built when I went in June 2014. Many of the hotels across the street from Disneyland are very old just to put that info out
It was very convenient to walk to the parks in my opinion.
It was nice too that you walk by CVS, 7-11, and the ABC convenience store to get to the parks and back so plenty of opportunity to grab a snack.
I stayed in a 1 bedroom but I know they have 2 bedrooms which would have a living area, 1 bedroom with 2 beds and another bedroom with a bunk bed, and 2 bathrooms.
Its pretty reasonably priced to and it's parent company is Marriott so you can use points.

Thanks everyone for the responses so far. How is the weather in early November? The courtyards “waterpark” looks fun. But my kids get cold fast.

The Spring Hill Suites doesn’t have a door. It’s a privacy wall. I called to check and we couldn’t stay there. We have kids with SPD that must have a separate sleeping space. We stayed at Hilton homewood suites. That won’t help you.

We do have Hilton points too. I’ll check it (my son has SPD too).

Marriott Residence Inn on Harbor (farther walk than Fairfield though and it's really not walkable) has a 2 bedroom. One room has a queen and the other has 2 twins. 2 bathrooms in that unit also. Both Residence Inns have one bedrooms with a separate living room with a sleeper sofa and you can rent a rollaway bed. Same with Homewood Suites, they have a separate living room with sofa bed and rentable rollaway bed. There's a new Homewood Suites that may be walkable for you, depending.

I recently stayed at Marriot Courtyard Theme Park Entrance, which I think is the one you’re referring to. Had a separate 1 bedroom and bunk beds in living room. We were really happy with room. Nice space, great little water park for the kids and easy walk to the park.

Is this the homewood suites convention?

If so,it’s a 20 min walk. We walked a lot because it was easier than dismantling our double stroller. You can also take the free toy story shuttle.

We have a Marriott associate gig and have stayed at all of them. We have 4 kids - 7, 5, 3, 4 months.

1. Residence Inn on harbor/katella - I'm not sure why this wouldn't be walkable. We are very physically active mid 30s, and towing 4 little kids can do it in 12 minutes. Best bet for space - the 1 bed suite is nice b/c it has a full kitchen, so we get grocery delivery and pack a ton of snacks for the kids in the stroller. Free, full breakfast - that saves us a ton of money.

2. FFI - newly renovated, smallest of the 3. No free breakfast like a typical FFI. You can get 2 queens and a chair that pulls out to a cot, IIRC.

3. Courtyard. We stayed here for the first time last month and I have to say - the bunkbeds are killer. The rooms are designed nicely, so while there isn't a ton of space like the RI, most of it is very usable. We were there over Halloween and even though the waterpark is "heated", it was still pretty cold even then. Kids didn't care though. Also no breakfast, but there's a Panera and McD in the parking lot between FFI and Courtyard.

4. Springhill - across parking lot from RI. Breakfast is somewhere between full and continental, okay sized rooms. the associate discount is usually the same at RI and SHS, so we just go RI. If SHS is a lot cheaper, it's still pretty nice.

Haha yes it just saves so much space and is super convenient. Usually we’re doubling kids up on sofa beds or whatever, but this way our oldest kids each had a bed, plus we had room for a pack and play. If you’ve just got the two kids, you don’t have to deal with a rollaway!

We have stayed at the Hilton, Homewood Suites, Doubletree, Raffles Inn and the (new) Residence Inn in the past few years and the RI would definitely be our favorite, although most expensive.

Smartlabelprint - Yes, Homewood Convention Center.
I would choose Residence Inn or Homewood, especially a newer property.
"Walkable" is a relative term. What's walkable to one, sometimes isn't to another especially when referring to past Katella.

OK - so I'm leaning towards Residence Inn, but just looking at the map - Fairfield/Courtyard are "so" much closer. But Residence Inn is in the lead because of the true one bedroom (although we would need to bring our blow up still). Courtyard is more Marriott points, but we get the bunk bed. I do remember the walk from Fairfield was annoying b/c it's set back far from the street. Is Residence closer to the street? Maybe that makes it slightly less of the walk?

We are very active - I shouldn't be nitpicking the walk. I just think the kids will be beat. My 8 year old really doesn't need a stroller, but would be happy to sit in one for the walk at the end of the night.

Google says the walk from Fairfield is .5 miles about 9 minutes, the walk from the Residence Inn is .7 miles and 14 minutes, but it's a straight shot. If the walk is to much there is the ART bus that has stops very close, either the Habor or Katella bus line would get you there.

OK - so yet another question. I can now see point values for booking Residence Inn. The studio and 1 bedroom King and 1 bedroom 2 Queen is available for 35,000/night. I called to inquire if I can use more points for the kind of room that has the 1 King and then separate space for the bunk beds (maybe that's called a 2 bedroom - not sure). The reservation specialist said that as of now, they are not available to book on points - might be too early. Anyone with experience? Any time I stay at Dolphin at WDW, I book a standard room on points and then there is an upcharge fee and the reservation specialist then books the room I really want.

@JJ2017 did you call the main 800 # or did you contact the Residence Inn direct? I know for people that stay at the Swan/Dolphin you need to call direct, the call center can't help out.

I did call directly. No big deal. I’ll wait and see what changes. It’s still so early.
