Has anyone seen it? We're watching it in school, and today it got to a part where I was seriously going to cry, and I never cry in movies. It's just amazing, because you're watching and thinking This really happened . . . I really felt ashamed that people who were able to help just didn't. That's why I think we should be taking action in places like Darfur. Places like that rarely get the attention they deserve, and when they do, it's for a short time. :sad2:

Anyway, so I almost cried today in "Hotel Rwanda." Just thought I'd share.

we watched Showers in April last year.

that was super sad.

never seen hotel rwanda. but i think it's the same time periodish?

Hotel Rwanda takes place in 1994, from April to July I think? I don't know when Showers in April takes place.

Hotel Rwanda is about a small African country (Rwanda) and two groups within it: The Hutu and the Tutsi. When the story is thrust into action, Tutsi rebels carry out an assassination against the Prime Minister of Rwanda, and the country is thrown into chaos. The main character, Paul Russesabagina who is the manager of a hotel, takes people who are running from the violence into his hotel. I've only gotten so far in the movie, so I can't say much more.

I saw it too.
Know everything about it and I think its the saddest thing ever. :sad2:

I haven't watched it yet, but my Social Studies teacher talked about it. My Social Studies teacher watches too many movies.

never seen the movie but we watched part of it in Geography today while learning about refugee's (that because this happened many people left to other countries)

We're almost done with it in my class. When Paul's family was almost killed I was so scared!

Well we are taking action in some places i.e. Iraq. If we left there a mass genocide would probably happen to either the Sunni's or the Shiites. Most likely the Sunni's though because they're the smaller group.
