Hi,
I was looking for anyone that has stayed at Royal Plaza recently,
and used their Transportation? I have read mixed reviews about this, so any info on the times they pick up and where they pickup and drop off ? Does their transportation run about the same as Disney's? Any info on the good and the bad would be appreciated.

Are you talking about a hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd, near Downtown Disney? If so, I have nothing good to say about them.

Most off-site hotel shuttles have limited schedules. Some run every 30/60/90 minutes, others have a few morning times, and a few evening times.

None provide even remotly close to the service that Disney Transport provides.

Yes, I'm talking about the transportation from Royal Plaza. I'm sure you don't have nothing good to say about them, that's why I asked for someone staying there, not Disney Bus Transportation, need info on the transportation the hotel uses.

Good Day

The DTD transportation to the parks is marginal, but useable. We used them a couple times while staying at the BW LBV last year. They pick up every half hour from about an hour before the first park opens until two hours after the last park closes. The exception is Animal Kingdom, which seemed to have a more loose operation (ran far less often in the middle of the day).

The problems: busses can get crowded. Plus, each bus stops at every DTD hotel. So depending on where you are on the chain, it can take quite a bit of time to get where you're going. We usually rent a car, and using the DTD busses didn't change my mind that it's a good idea to rent a car. But if you plan, you can do alright. So I wouldn't say "horror stories," but I wouldn't give it a thumbs up, either.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info Pat, I just got some info from another thread from someone that had stayed at the DD Hotels recently, and they said the buses were on time, clean and convenient. I guess it all depends on who you talk to, and the time you stay there.

Good Day

kcarp,

Never has a matter been so subjective as Disney Transportation. Many people think I'm off my gourd for driving when I could take a bus. I should add to my review that the DTD busses were, in fact, clean and on time. Convenience is in the eyes of the beholder. For what it's worth, I've never been overly impressed with Resort transportation, either, except for the monorails. So if I were you, I'd be inclined to trust the other thread. I'm just not a "bus guy."

And off the topic, besides the monorail resorts, I don't think there's a better place to stay than at the DTD hotels. The location is incredible. Enjoy!

Hi

I was at the Hilton in WDW in March and travelled to Epcot ( Sunday).
I left the hotel at 9am and there were two buses ( one for Epcot/MGM) and one for the Magic Kingdom. We only stopped at one other hotel (Grosvenor I think before heading to the parks). The bus was a few minutes late (but coming from the UK i viewed it on time;)

On the way back we went via MGM before back to the hotel. One bus seved the Hilton and Grosvenor while another bus appeared to serve the other hotels.

The buses were clean and were less than half full when i travelled on the, alothough I did see other buses during the day which appeared to be full ( people standing?).

There would also be busses from Downtown Disney.

Regards
