We are driving down from Indianapolis and plan to stop in Valdosta for the night.
We have had no luck finding a decent, clean hotel in that area but its the best place for us to stop at the end of day1 traveling. Any recomendations from others who travel by this way? Thnx!

We are stopping in Valdosta too. It looks like they have a new Holiday Inn that is just off I-75. Not sure when you are going but I think I read that you could book for late April and later.

I would love some suggestions too.

I just tried to book the new Holiday Inn Convention Center for my date and she said it was full. I hope your not traveling June 1st. I think there is a Hampton Inn there but I haven't read any reviews.

Your in luck!! We go to Valdosta to Wild Adventures all the time. The 2 best hotels(in our opinion) are:
Country Inn and Suites and the La Quinta, they are both very nice, clean. The La Quinta has a free breakfast buffet with your stay, very good, has biscuits,gravy,eggs,waffles,bacon,sausage,muffins,bagel...I could go on...
Country Inn has indoor pool and jacuzzi(very nice after a long trip), also has a cond. breakfast(it's ok).
My recommendation is not to stay at the Quality Inns(there kinda dirty),
Price wise Days Inn is good, we haven't personally stayed there, but heard it's decent.
Overall I recommend the La Quinta can't beat the breakfast and comfort!!;)

We've used the Holiday Inn Express a few times. It's new, clean and good for an enroute night's stay.

About 30 min. before Valdosta is Tifton. This is a nice little town and has a Hampton Inn that is always clean and cozy. The people who work their are always friendly and will help with any special needs you may have. They offer a nice breakfast with both hot and cold food in the morning. The hotel is right off the interstate. If they are booked there was construction of other hotel chains going in.

We've had good stays at Hampton Inns. We have stayed at Hampton Inn in Tifton as previous stated. Also, we are staying at Hampton Inn Valdosta next month on our way down. This is our 1st time there so not sure how it is. We were going to try Country Inn & Suites but it is booked for the date we need.

I knew I could count on my friends here at the Dis to lead me on the right path. I believe La Quinta will be our choice because we are traveling with two men and two boys and if we can get a hearty breakfast into them their moods will greatly improved after a long day of driving the day before! LOL

Thank you!

Good choice! We love the La Quinta, stay there when we can. Besides the breakfast the other thing I like about this place is I feel secure. It's one of those places that you need your key to get in the side doors and even if you go through the front the desk people look at you to make sure they've seen you, if not they always ask, may I help you!
If you get there around dinner time, Outback is right next door and there are many other restaraunts close by!
I think you'll be happy with your choice!

GrumpyFamily, thanks so much for the heads up about outback being right next door. We will definitely be arriving around dinner time after a very long day on the road. We will start out around 5am from Indianapolis so we can get to Valdosta no later than 7pm.
