We are going on the Dream leaving out of Miami in August. This will be our first Disney cruise. We are looking for hotel recommendations for 1 night on the day we return to port. We are leaving out of fort Lauderdale airport. So anything in between is fine. We wanted something close to a beach and a short Uber ride to restaurants. A great pool area is a must.
Thank you all

Take a look at Margaritaville on Hollywood Beach, not too far from FLL and oceanfront with a great pool area.
There is a broadwalk with many dining options.

My other suggestion would be Lauderdale by the Sea, but there isn't a resort type hotel there with the pool you're looking for. Its a beautiful little town with an area with shops and dining, its all walkable.
The two hotels I can think of are The Windjammer, we have stayed here for the last 40 years ( family timeshare) and a new hotel that looks pretty interesting is called Plunge. They have direct ocean bungalows and also regular hotel rooms.

Let me know if you have any other questions, we live in the Ft. Lauderdale area.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale. We really enjoyed it. They have a shuttle you can book for from the port to the hotel ($25 per person) and from the hotel to the airport ($10 per person). There are several restaurants within walking distance and the pool is really nice. We actually got post cruise tattoos (we stayed there before the cruise and had a consultation then made an appointment for the day we returned) right across the street. It was a great spot for us pre cruise as well because there were a couple of grocery stores as well so we bought a case of water to take on the ship with us. We really loved the location (we got to see some cruise ships leave from Port Everglades from our hotel room balcony).

They only charge $25 to take you port of Miami?

Per person but yes. There were 5 of us so it wasn't necessarily cheap but it was soo convenient and easy, perfect for what we needed especially for the return back to the hotel, they were right there waiting for us when we got off the ship.

Wow, that's great that they took you from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami.
I'm glad you had that option. Nice to hear they were waiting for you after the cruise.
The last time we did that in PC, they kept us waiting for over an hour. We said never again and now just park at the port.

We were soo extremely happy with everything about the Embassy, the shuttle and the location. We did have a couple of issues at the hotel but they acted swiftly (a pipe started leaking from the AC unit and our TV didn't work) and efficiently. The maintenance man became our friend, he was very kind, but for us it wasn't if things happen its how they are handled and we were perfectly satisfied with how they took care of us. I find myself posting to absolutely anything and everything about the Embassy and the surrounding area but that's just because we want everyone to be as happy as we were. It was a little unnerving for me being the planner and feeling like everything rested on me so it was extremely rewarding when it all worked out. It was fantastic when the first thing we saw when we got to our room was a cruise chip leaving the port. Such a cool thing to watch from your hotel balcony!!!
