Hubby and I, along with another couple, and no kids are headed to DL in May for the Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon. We are WDW regulars but have only been to the westcoast park a few times.

When we travel we prefer to stay at Embassy Suites or something similar where we can get free breakfast and then free adult beverages in the evenings- we like cocktail hour(s)! I see that there is an Embassy Suites in Anaheim, but it looks to be a bit of a hike from the Maingate and after running the race that weekend I'm not sure we want to be walking 1 mile to/from the parks and our hotel.

Thus, are there any other Goodneighbor Hotels closer that offer the complementary breakfast and evening cocktail hour?

They have a complimentary shuttle running for us that weekend to the hotels. I know right where it is and you will be fine. Also there's a Marriott and Hilton across from dl that had lounges.
We stay at the marriott suites down further they have all the restraunts Etc and since there is the shuttle it's no bother.

According to the Embassy's website their is a cost for the shuttle

Yes normally there is a cost for the ART shuttle, but on race weekends its free for runners and their families. Looking at my Tink program from this year it looks like the free shuttle began the first day of the Expo and lasted through the day of the Half. You ask the driver for a pass the first time you board the shuttle and you use that same pass all weekend.

The shuttle will take you from your hotel to the normal shuttle drop off area at the Esplanade. You'll then need to walk through the Esplanade and Downtown Disney to reach the start/finish area.

I can't help you much with the complimentary cocktail hour. But there are several hotels that offer complimentary breakfast. Probably the closest one to the starting/finishing line is Best Western Stovall's Inn. A lot of runners choose to stay here. The hotel itself is nothing special, but it's clean and they have a decent breakfast selection. The Best Western Park Place Inn also provides free breakfast and it is right across the street from the parks. There is a brand new Marriott Springhill Suites on the corner of Harbor/Katella that offers a free hot breakfast. There is also Marriott Residence Inn Maingate, a little bit more of a walk, but doable. I'm sure there are a few other hotels in the immediate vicinity of the park that offer breakfast, but these are the ones that I would consider.
