Planning a trip to Disneyland next summer 2018. Looking for hotel recommendations near Disneyland Park, prefer something off Harbor Blvd less than 2 miles...TIA

These are brand new. I think they all include breakfast. A little longer walk (15-20 min) but you can ride the toy story shuttle for free:
HomeWood suites convention center
country inn & suites
Hyatt house
Spring Hill Suites convention center

Older motels but advantage is they’re across the street:
Camelot inn
Best western park place inn
Park vue inn

ETA: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...ce/?scid=bb1a189a-fec3-4d19-a255-54ba596febe2 this one is best of both worlds. Really close. Really new. But $$$

We have stayed exclusively at the GCH for the last 4 to 5 years on our DL trips so not too sure about what is out there. We are doing our 2nd DL trip of the year Thanksgiving weekend and couldn't swing the GCH twice (our summer trip was 7 days and this trip is 4), we looked outside of the resort and we are going with Park Vue. Fingers crossed it will be okay. We read through some reviews and it seems to score pretty well.

Doubletree Orange is very nice. Doubletree Anaheim is very nice. Embassy Suites South. Without knowing your price range, it is hard to figure out what you would like. Hyatt House and Hyatt Hotel are great.

$150 or less... is that doable?

Not at the one at ones I recommended. The HomeWood suites is $220 for their 1 bedroom suite. There are 5 real beds. Plus couch

The bwppi is $170 for their “suite”. Real beds for 4. Plus couch

I don’t like the travel time to the park for doubletree Orange. That’s near the outlet mall? We’ve stayed there a few times.

Hyatt was available as the best guess on the non bidding Priceline recently. I almost booked OTB but cancelled my solo trip.

WE usually stay at the Marriott's either the Fairfield or the one at Convention Center. If you get a rewards membership (free) you typically get the best deal, and do not have to pay in advance. We have a $122 per night deal coming up this December (booked 7 months ago).

When we stay off Disney property we stay at the Hotel Indigo. Easy 10 to 15 minute walk depending on how slow/fast you make it. Its not like most area hotels. It has a more contemporary funky look to it. Free parking as well. We like it a lot.

Best Western Park Place is my go to Harbor hotel. Free ok hot breakfast and the rooms were recently remodeled. It's the closest hotel to the main entrance.

My second choice is Homewood Suites Convention center. Closest to the Toy Story lot. Newer, brighter and bigger rooms. Good free hot breakfast and kitchen in your room.

Going out a little further from Harbor Blvd, along Katella Av, you will find at 1990 S Manchester Av the Staybridge Suites, which is a cheaper hotel. Despite being a distance away from DLR it is served by the ART transit network. Best give their prices a check on various hotel booking sites.

These are all about a mile away and have hot cooked breakfast as part of the normal room cost:
Hampton Inn and Suites
Embassy Suites
Homewood Suites

Those are all on Harbor in Garden Grove.

Yes!! I go for the budget stays and always find something around $100/night. Right now GetAwayToday.com has a few great deals available into the summer with free nights on stay of 4 or 5 nights. For example, I priced out Castle Inn and Suites for $105/night at the end of August.

The Howard Johnson on Harbor is our go to hotel. Free parking, walk is under 10 minutes, beds are super comfy, kiddie pool area and the normal pool are both great, keurig coffee makers in room.

Depends on what you're looking for. Newer, suite-type hotels with hot breakfast are a bit more expensive and a longer walk or an inconvenient shuttle ride. If you just want a cheap clean room to shower and crash, stay right across the street. BWPPI, Park Vue, Desert Inn (stayed there twice, last time was meh), Grand Legacy at the Park, Tropicana, Fairfield, HoJo ... all these have their fans. Personally I love staying that close so I can take a midday break.

I narrowed it down to 2 hotels both under $150.00.... Hyatt Regency Orange County and Double Tree Anaheim Resort Convention Ctr. Anyone stayed at either?

We’ve been alternating between Park Vue and DLH. You’ll definitely notice a difference staying offsite but Park Vue is super close and really, if you spend all day and most of the evening in the parks, it’s just a place to sleep. I do miss EMH staying onsite but the walk from Park Vue is much closer than DLH so that was a plus too. Also, staying offsite and not using a pool during cooler months makes it OK too :)

True! I think it will be okay ... it just feels SO weird not staying on property! It will be so strange not being able to walk out of the hotel and straight into DCA or taking advantage of the EMH. We will be back at the GCH this summer so that will be good. Just want to make sure the Park Vue is a good second choice :) From what I see, it seems to get a lot of positive reviews which is good. It is going to be so weird heading in the direction of harbor vs heading towards DTD when heading home for the night!

We did a split stay at Park Vue Inn then moving to Disneyland Hotel one year and then we stayed at Park Vue again after that. We really like Park Vue Inn! No it is not a disneyland resort, but it was very nicely decorated, we had a suite with a large bedroom, kitchen and living room. We prefer up on the second floor, (no elevator) I am a light sleeper, don't like hearing people walk around above me. We were even able to watch the fireworks right out our "livingroom" window! we were on the same side as the breakfast room, which is also up on the second floor. I hope it is still as nice for you, as our last stay there, 2 years ago. Oh one other thing, the walk out of the hotel is just as close to the gate as it was when we walked from Disneyland hotel! ask to be put towards the front of the hotel :)
