Hotel recommendation

Hi this will be my first visit with my 2 kids ages 8 and 6. We are going in February.
Our 2 hotels we have picked out are the Carribean hotel. And Port Orleans riverside. We have to decide by next week to book it.
Any one stay at either one and which did you like better. Thanks

i have stayed at both and prefer Port Orleans, but the kids may enjoy the pool at the Carribean Beach better. I would suggest getting a preferred room because both resorts are pretty large and a preferred room with have you closer to the food court & transportation. They are both good resorts so you will be happy with either!

Stayed at both also. Both great resorts. As OP stated, preferred rooms are recommended, and well worth the few bucks up-charge IMO. With a 6 and 8 year old, I would lean more towards CBR Preferred Room as you would be 1-3 minute walk from your room to the main pool/food court/main building. The CBR has a zero entry, pirate themed pool.

I have stayed at both and you can't go wrong with either one. Having said that, our preference is CBR. Our son like the CBR Main Feature pool much better. We all like the food court better. And CBR has such a laid back, relaxed feel to it that is such a nice break from the craziness of the parks. CBR just completed a room refurb 3 months ago, too.

Been to both and CBR especially now it has queen beds. The pool is heaps better at CBR. The food court is better at POR.

Have stayed at both too. I also agree with the others. Port Orleans, (POR) is definetly our favorite of the two, NOW. BUT, when my kids were your kids ages, Caribbean ( CBR), was excellent! In fact we went twice. If you can swing the preferred, I definetly agree to go for that, to me that would make the whole thing perfect for you.

We've stayed at both and we feel the obvious choice is POR hands down. It's pool is at a better location. It has some really neat scenery and a good earth day story to read on ole man island.

I would definitely go with CBR with kids your ages. I also agree that the preferred location will make a big difference to your enjoyment of the resort.

If you decide NOT to book preferred, then request Jamaica. It is fairly close for a standard room location.

YOU will love the relaxed, tropical island atmosphere of the resort.


POR is a really good choice as well, just not as well suited to your kids as CBR. Again, preferred rooms are the BEST idea to book, if at all possible. Royal rooms are another option that some like, but they are not as convenient as the preferred rooms and are pricey for what you get (a cute design and headboard lights).

Both are awesome resorts! The pool at CBR is awesome for kids. We have never done a preferred room and never found the walks to be as bad as other people say... maybe 10 minutes at the most since our kids walk slow

Been to both. We like both, however, if given the choice, CBR for sure. I love the look and feel of the resort, and it's pool is one of the best on property, IMO. Also, as all the rooms are recently remodeled, and now all have queen beds, it's kind of a no brainer for us. We'll be there for 2 weeks in just 2 weeks!!!!

I stayed at POR a few times and liked it. Very nice quiet place.

My friend stayed at CBR last month and raved about the pool.

We've never stayed at POR, but we loved everything about CBR. The grounds were beautiful, the food court was great, and the buses were quick and efficient (even with the multiple internal stops). I agree with the others that the pool at CBR is awesome for kids as it has a fun pirate theme. Our boys were 8 & 6 when we stayed there and they couldn't get enough of the pool. I don't think you can go wrong with either resort, but my choice would be CBR.
