We are making a quick trip to Pigeon Forge Labor Day weekend (thanks to a gift of Dollywood tickets) and need a nice, but cheap place to stay for the weekend. Recommendations please.
They also offer a complimentary breakfast as well (at least in the hotel) with warm items (eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls). Its not the greatest thing in the world but it saved us the hassle of having to bring / buy breakfast. Theres also a 24/7 indoor pool which can be a good thing and a bad thing.
Take a look at creek stone inn. It has been a whole but I stayed there once. Very basic but the room set up was nice. 2 beds but the bathroom was in between. The kids could go to sleep on one side while we stayed up and watched tv.
We've stayed at Wilderness at the Smokies. It's actually a hotel with an indoor Water Park - which is great if you ever want to visit for the fall foliage but would also like to go swimming or lay in the sun. (they have a clear glass ceiling for sunbathing, wave pool, toddler pool, etc.)
Quality Inn & Suites at Dollywood Lane is a pretty good price, has continental breakfast, an outdoor pool, and you can use the indoor pool at the neighbor hotel. It's beside of Denny's. It's been a while since we stayed there but it was very clean.
Our favorite place to stay is Governor's Crossing but it's not cheap.
We stayed at the Ecnolodge Riverside about 4 years ago. It was for one night. It was cheap and on the backside of the hotel is a small river with some ducks that folks were feeding.
I have stayed in many different place in Pigeon Forge. I just returned and second Econolodge Riverside. It was very clean and updated. Indoor pool. The river walk project with the gas logs down by the river was really awesome. Breakfast included. Fridge and microwave..Good beds. I could go on and on. I am a tripadvisor fan and I am very particular about where we stay. This trip we needed budget for one night and once again we were 100 percent please. Book at choice hotels and use the code 00209490 in the last option box under rates and you can get a room for 63.00 plus tax or less even...You want be disappointed in this place.
Econolodge Riverside it is so nice you would never know it was an econolodge. It is done in a log cabin feel. Indoor pool, Hot tub, free continental Breakfast and close to everything. We've stayed ther a couple times always clean and nice
We normally do not stay at Best Westerns, but there are two good ones in Pigeon Forge. One is the Toni Inn and the other is the Plaza. They are almost across the street from each other. We have stayed at both and they are pretty interchangeable. Both have a basic continental breakfast and indoor and outdoor pools. Rooms are decorated the same. Bathrooms are clean but have not been remodeled in 10+ years.
The rooms in both are much cleaner than a typical BW.
With AAA we pay $50 to $70 a night. Labor Day could be way higher. I would book soon.
The Pigeon Forge/Sevierville/Gatlinburg has a ton of older motels. You can stay in old but clean places for under $50 or spend $150 for the Holiday Inn Express. Prices vary a lot and we always trust tripadvisor reviews. Read the most recent ones because the motels there change ownership often.
