Just getting some ideas about the most romantical resorts for the DisneyMoon after the wedding.......comments and a vote will be most helpful!:cutie:

Just found out we are splitting our stay between Shades of Green, Polynesian and Hard Rock Hotel at Universal. :goodvibes Should be interesting.

We're also splitting our stay. We're spending the first half at the Wilderness Lodge and the other at Port Orleans French Quarter. We've stayed at POFQ before and it was very romantic.

I voted for the GF b/c I think our disneymoon is the only time we'll be able to stay there. We are also staying at the BC, and I think any of the hotels around there (YC and BW) are romantic, especially since Epcot is within walking distance. WL is also really romantic though. Good luck :)

My vote is for Wilderness Lodge! That's where we are going to be...but we also are considering staying at the Boardwalk... The Wilderness Lodge seems very romantic and quiet, while the Boardwalk seems like a lot of fun! Good luck with your decision....too many great places to choose from!

Animal Kingdom Lodge was the most fun, and interesting place to have your honeymoon! And I think it's the most interesting, and beautifully themed resort that Disney has on their property! I loved it! And the concierge level for your disneymoon is a must! :thumbsup2

Is concierge really a must? Is it worth it?????? What do you get?

I thought it was well worth it! I really enjoyed being on the fifth level with it's great view of the savanah. We also took full advantage of the concierge services. They were very helpful in scheduling our ADRs for us, and they also helped us greatly with the "special details" of the trip...like planning a romantic picnic, getting something special delivered to the room, having them send something home for us...etc. We also frequently snacked, or even had lunch or breakfast at the concierge lounge...oh, and the Sunrise Safari made the whole thing worth it! Don't miss that if you stay at AKL! :) :hippie:

I chose Grand Floridian just because I've always considered it to be the "fanciest" of the Disney resorts. I dreamed of staying there ever since it opened...and my wish came true because I ended up getting engaged on the balcony of one of the suites there! Needless to say, that makes my vote a little biased. The Poly is a close second because of it's tropical feel and hawaiian-island vibes. Very romantic!

I think it depends on what atmosphere you're looking for. I picked BW because of everything there is to do at night. Plus, it's beautiful to walk around!

I voted WL but I am biased since we not only spent our Disneymoon there but were married on Sunrise Terrace - I think it is the most romantic resort in Disney :lovestruc

I vote GF cause that is where I am staying......after a couple kids I probably won't be able to afford it again....:goodvibes

Just got back today from my Disneymoon at the GF! we had a turret honeymoon room, room 4021 with a view of teh castle from our bed! SO romantic! between walking the grounds at night, watching wishes from our room, sitting in the lobby listening to the piano and orchestra...well you get the idea, its very very romantic and we had a great time!!! I can't believe I'm back home :(

I voted for the GF for a honeymoon resort even though it was a tough choice between GF and BW. I'm biased towards the BW b/c that's where we were married and had our honeymoon and it's my favorite Disney location. But I feel that the Grand Floridian in more romantic for a honeymoon. The WL is also romantic (if you're into the nature theme--which we are) but not being on the monorail is one reason I wouldn't vote for it for the Honeymoon resort. Good luck in deciding...

I'm in love with the idea of an AKL honeymoon, just because of how transporting the theme is. If money were no object, I'd go on a safari for my honeymoon. Also, I need a resort with lots to do for a honeymoon, because I'm so type-A that sitting around "relaxing" while in WDW actually stresses me out! Having lots of stuff to see and do at the resort means we can have some restful, relaxing days/half days around the resort without me feeling like I'm "wasting time" (silly, I know).
The Boardwalk would be my second choice, because I like the whimsical theme and I LOVE the location b/w Epcot and MGM. The MK resorts may be more traditionally romantic, but we spend more time elsewhere on property and less time in the MK, so we can't see spending the money to be located on the monorail. There will be time for that when we have kids and are at the MK more. Although the idea of being able to see the castle from bed does sound nice :).

we are staying at the boardwalk and then at the GF for our wedding night and the night after, and then back to the boardwalk for the rest of the week! i am SOOO excited! we are on the concierge floor at the GF! but all the resorts really are amazing...it just depends on what YOUR idea of romantic is!!

I am going to have to agree with singingpixie. AKL is absolutely the most lovely resort because you forget where you are...It really does depend on the theme you are going for but I can tell you AKL lives up to expectations. I have been to Africa and the imagineers did not miss a thing when putting the resort together everything from the thatched roofs to the colour of the pool is authentic. If you truly want and out of this world experience this is the place to go! Moonpie-I hear you sister on the concierge level totally worth it! I practically lived at lounge especially during the afternoon snack time. No matter what you choose it will be special!
Have a great time
