Hi everyone,

My family will be driving in to PC for our first DCL cruise in May :goodvibes I'm wondering if there is a hotel convient to port that helps with the parking situation. For example, is there a hotel that will allow up to park the car for the week and get a shuttle or taxi to port for less than the cost of parking at the port? Thanks for any info.

There are several near PC that run a free shuttle if you stay the day before. Off the top of my head I can't think of any of the names. I am sure someone will post a few of them for you.

as far as I know, the hotel shuttles are for their room guests only

Radisson, Country Inn and Suites, Quality Inn and Suites, Residence Inn.

I suspect there are others, but these all have free cruise parking with a hotel stay. All except Residence Inn have a free shuttle to/from the port, Residence Inn charges a small fee for the shuttle. All except Radisson have free breakfast.

There is no need to purchase a cruise package; the parking deal is available to any guest.

I believe the original poster wants to park without staying at one of the hotels

AH....OK....as far as I know, the hotels allow parking with a hotel stay either before or after the cruise. They are not operating a public parking lot!

Thank you for the advice. Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I do intend to stay at the hotel the night before cruise. I like the looks of the Radisson. Apparently they allow you to stay, park, will shuttle you to the port and feed you breakfast all fro about $20 more than a week of parking at the port. Sounds like a pretty good deal. Thanks again.

We are staying at the Radisson before our B2B in April, since the rate at the parking deck are nwo $20 a day a week's parking fees are the same as the overnight at the hotel. Also, if you book the Radisson call them and reserve your shuttle time to the port. You must call them and book your seats to get on the shuttle at the time you want :)

These four hotels have FREE PARKING stay one night. Over time Ive heard other Dis say they got rates around $70.

Six dollar shuttle service per person some say round trip.

1,) Residence Inn Cape Canaveral Cocoa Beach $156, We are staying here.

(2.) Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Cape Canaveral $169,

(3.) Radisson Resort at the Port $140,

(4.) Royal Mansions $143.

Unless things have changed, the Radisson doesn't include breakfast unless you buy the "cruise package" which includes 2 breakfasts.

A few years ago we stayed at the QUALITY Inn and Suites (not Country) for $107 including all taxes, etc. It is a sister hotel to the Radisson--you drive to the Radisson and park in their lot/use their shuttle free (they make the reservation for you). The breakfast was pretty basic, but it was ok. Room was decent. It is not as nice as the Renaissance, CI&S, or Radisson.

Other places, rates vary with your dates and any specials that might be available. The Renaissance is the only one that charges for the shuttle (of those I listed in my earlier post.

My dealings with the Raddison from a previous post:

I've stayed at the Radisson twice - once in Oct 08 and the second in May 09. The first time there was no problems at all.

Now for the second time. We had booked the 10:00 shuttle hoping to get to the port early to try for an upgrade (but this really is not needed unless you are going into the "fancy" rooms). We actually arrived at the port at :scared1: 12:15 :scared1:

After all that time, not once did anyone in the hotel management come out and explain what was happening - even though it was obvious. They first loaded the shuttle to the Carnival cruise line (this was about 10:15). Then the next shuttle (they have 2) was sent back to the Carnival cruise line with only 2 people aboard (this was about 10:40). The next shuttle took people who had signed up after we did - I know because the front desk said we were the 2nd family to sign up for the shuttle. The next shuttle then finally showed up and it was a nightmare. By now they had the 10:00 people standing outside, the 10:30 people standing outside, the 11:00 people standing outside, and the 11:30 people standing outside. People were calling cabs and trying everything they could do to get to the port. By the way, the taxi ride was over $20 from what I was told. No explanation or anything.

I could live with some small mistakes -even though they have been doing this for years and should be good at this. Now for the way home. We got off the boat before 7:30 and there was a line already at stand 1. We waited there for well over an hour while we saw the Radisson shuttle pass by use 3 times on the way to the Carnival cruise line. The last time they stopped and picked up 3 people. After close to 1 and a half hours, they finally decided to pick up the Disney boat. Unfortunately there was a family that decided they were more inportant than everyone else and jumped the line to get in before everyone else. I fully blame this on the ignorant people and the porter who takes the luggage of anyone they bring up and put it right on the curb in front of everyone.

All in all, I spent more time waiting in line for the Radisson shuttle than riding rides at the parks. I waited almost as long as the drive from GA to FL. A very bad experience both ways. I wrote the managers at the Radisson and got back a form letter saying we'll look into it. That has been almost 2 months ago and not a word or apology since.

Needless to say, I will no longer be giving my hard earned money to the Radisson at the Port. Even though things can and do go wrong, to ignore a customer complaint is the worst thing you can do. The bad thing is I really liked that hotel.

We just stayed at the Doubletree Cocoa Beach, about five minutes further from the port than Radisson, and it was fantastic! Parking (immediately beside the hotel, not down the street) was free for the week. Really free, too, as in there is no "cruise rate" that includes parking but costs more than just a room rate. The shuttle was $5 per person each way, not crowded, arrived 15 miutes early, friendly, etc.

I did a lot of research before booking, and brucechase's earlier post is actually what kept us away from Radisson. I can't say enough great things about Doubletree! :)

Wow, thank you for the info on the Radisson. I will avoid them. That sounds terrible.

Can someone claify the parking cost at the port. I looked at the PC website and it says $15 per day but someone on here said $20. Anyone who's been there recently know for sure? This will be in May if that matters.

For the MV on Jan 26 we paid $15 per night.

If you park at the Raddison or anywhere else near the port do not leave anything valuable in your car. Over the past year there have been many groups of breakins in that area. The Raddison's "secured lot" with a guard and cameras did no good for the 6 cars that were broken into with ours last year.

We stayed at the Radisson in October for a 7 night DCL cruise. We paid $110 for the night. The room was nice and clean. Food in the restaurant was great as was the room service. The pool was fantastic.

Our car was fine. Dont let people scare you with stories of breakins. It can happen ANYWHERE, and more likely to happen in your driveway. The only people that harmed our car were fellow cruisers who scuffed our wax job with their luggage.

The shuttle was great. The operation was fast and efficient. We left exacly on time to get to the ship and on the return trip, we waited for a whopping 5 minutes for the shuttle.
