Last time we were at HNY, June 2000, the pool opened at 3pm.

Can anyone who has been recently advise if it's still as late as this? We're hoping to spend some time here cooling down in a couple of weeks.

Hello!

When we were there last month it seemed to be open all day like the gym, at least that's what the times on the door said.

We only went ourselves in the afternoon so I don't know for sure.

:goodvibes

Why don't you phone them Julie? I have a couple of times and they have been very helpful.

Thanks

I'll ask them when I call on Thursday to request our inter-connecting rooms - just wondered if anyone knew......I like to plan ahead :lmao:

Thanks

So do we. :) Not long before we go to Hotel New York too, 2 weeks today in fact.

What is in the pool (I know, water before any one states the obvious). :D
Toys, slides, inflatables etc. ?

No slide, but there is a table full of arm bands, floats, back floats etc which are very handy when you realise that the pool has no shallow end!

There is a jacuzzi at the far end for grown ups and a random small shallow paddling area on the side with warm water in...!

The outside was shut when we were there so can't help with that I'm afraid.

There has always been lots of floats/arm bands available. It's lovely when the outside is open and there are the usual sun loungers around the pool too.

I've never noticed the pool here being too busy either which is good. The only downside for me is the depth overall (it can get exhausting) and the changing rooms are very small. Our rooms were right next door to the pool the last time so we just wrapped our towels round us and went back to our rooms to change.

I've emailed dlp about getting connecting rooms, so i've asked what time the pool opens too.

Got email back from dlp - pool opens from 7am - 21:45 :thumbsup2

:cool1::cool1: Thank you - this is very good news. It was open long hours when we went in February and I was really hoping it still would be when we go next month.

Ooh those are nice long hours :thumbsup2

The New York pool looks lovely from the photos. Does it look as good in real life? Got to say I thought the DLH pool was a bit of a disappointment. It was only open on our arrival day before it closed for refurbishment and I went to have a look but it was full of children (how dare they!!! :lmao: :lmao: ) and as it didn't have much of a wow factor I didn't mind giving it a miss.

Yes, it's lovely.

Large pool with open doors outside which is open in the summer. There are sun loungers around the pool outside too. There is a jaccuzzi and a small ankle deep splash pool for very young children.

It is however very deep all over. I can just about stand on my tip toes and breathe if I put my head back :lmao: I'm 5ft 5in.

As said above lots of floats etc for the kids which is needed. I've never tried the DLH pool so can't compare.

I've been wondering this too! Those hours are fantastic. When we go the park will most likely (judging by previous years) be closing at 20:00, so that gives us plenty of time for an evening swim before bed, ideal! :goodvibes
