Going to a show at Mohegan Sun, but the room is $599 plus tax for one night. Hoping someone might be able to recommend a hotel near Mohegan Sun?????
THANKS!! : )

Just stayed there this weekend it is about 10min drive and they have a shuttle. Pool, hot tub, breakfast... About 112.00$
You have to book the shuttle when you get there, the 5:00 was full so we took the 7:00. Was a great place huge rooms too!

I have also dated at the bellisimo grande. It is also a great place to stay it is a little more $$, same amenities, but gorgeous hotel. Good luck and have fun!!!

There is a a Mariott Courtyard and a Holiday Inn in Norwich...about a 10-15 minute ride from Mohegan Sun. Also there is the Norwich Inn and Spa.

DJ & I have stayed here several times. You can get a room on hotels.com for less than $100 (weeknight). Some rooms have a hot tub in them (for a fee) but they have a small indoor pool and a nice spa with decent prices. DH enjoys the all you can eat breakfast in the morning. It is also a very quiet hotel - they have quiet hours posted after 11 and they enforce them.

Lastly, it is about 20 minutes from Mohegan and they have a free shuttle to Foxwoods, which is about 1 mile down the road.

I've stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott, and it's a quick easy ride from there to Mohegan. In the evenings, they have a shuttle to the casino, and when we used the shuttle, we got vouchers for a bet on the big wheel, and food.

Depending on when you are going, you can check out the Foxwoods site. Sometimes they offer rooms at the Two Trees Inn for less than $100 and you can have the best of both casinos. I've also stayed at the Comfort Inn on Whitehill Rd. in Mystic. Very clean, and accomodating. Less than a 20min. ride to Mohegan and 5min.to Mystic Village shops.

I just went tot he Foxwoods site, and there are some terrific bargains there for the rest of this month, Dec and Jan. I just booked the MGM Grand one night the week after New Years for $59. Can't wait. ( I have to stop visiting this board!)

Hi there! I'm from that area (I've worked at Foxwoods and whatnot), and I strongly recommend just staying at Foxwoods--- the hotels are lovely! (Except for Two Trees Inn.) If you need any other advice, let me know!

I recommend avoiding Two Trees also. I stayed in a mini-suite with some friends and found it very worn and tired. While it was clean It definitely needs a refurb!

On the flip side, the shuttle to Foxwoods was fast and the breakfast buffet at their restaurant was awesome.

I'm surprised others are saying to "avoid" Two Trees. It may look a little worn, but I have always found the staff attentive, the rooms clean, and the restaurant serves a great meal whether breakfast or dinner. I would definately stay there before staying offsite. Over the holidays enjoy a drink in the lounge next to the fireplace.

I grew up in Montville where Mohegan Sun now is. My suggestion if you are only staying one night would be to look at the Microtel on Rt 32. It is less than 5 minutes from the casino and provides a shuttle. There is also a best western right down the street from the microtel but they are on the more expensive side. If you are going to stay more than one night or plan to do some sightseeing of the area the next day then I would suggest looking around Mystic Ct. It will be about a 20 minute drive to the casino from there but there are a number of shops and resteraunts withing walking distance there.
