I'm thinking of booking a hotel near Manchester Airport for the night prior to our flight, I've always travelled via the excellent train link previously, but this mean an extremely early start and as I'm getting older/lazier :charac2: , this is less and less appealing!

There'll be three adults, so can anyone recommend a good hotel that would set our holiday off nicely?

Hi

In September we stayed at the Bewleys Hotel at Manchester Airport.

Excellent value for money. We phoned round the hotels on site and found this to be the cheapest and booked for that reason only. Traveled up for tea the night before flying, ate in the airport, had a few drinks and watched the planes. Ralxing night in a very nice room (easily 4 stars) relaxeed breakfast and flew at 10:30 (Virgin). Made the holiday start a day earlier and took away the hassel of travelling early that morning, worrying about getting stuck in traffic etc.

Very relaxing and well recommended.

Hope that helps.

agree with crim1978......stayed at bewleys in november...good value..both room and restaurant/bar.....good nights sleep....god trnsfer to airport and good pick up for car on return

If aren't travelling by car to Manchester (or even if you are), gotta recommend the Radisson which is in the airport complex. Cost a few £'s more, but you are on holiday after all?

After check in, we wandered back to the hotel for breakfast and had a superb buffet breakfast whilst avoiding the ho-hum fayre (IMHO) in the airport......

I have to agree with tim june and sam, the Radisson is the place to be. Smack bang in the middle of the airport with a covered, moving walkway from the hotel lobby direct into the check in desks. We order breakfast to our rooms for 8am but get up at 7am and go to the (empty!) check in desks to wave goodbye to our luggage and get our boarding cards. Then back to the room for a leisurely breakfast and watch TV before strolling down to the airport about an hour before the flight.

It is a few pounds extra but with three kids it makes the whole experience so stress free that its worth every penny.

We have stayed at both the Hilton and the Radisson. Both were very very good. The Radisson is definitely the better one.

We're on roll for the Radisson, especially for families???

Tell me anyone, what's the best rate you ever got at the Radisson for family room plus parking - soon time to book for 2005 you see!?!

We got two adjoining rooms for £180 including breakfast in the Radisson in September '03. This year the same has gone upto £200 for the rooms but it's a small price to pay to have the kids sleeping in one room and us in the other. Don't know abou parking charges though as we get a taxi to/from the airport. Too tired to drive after the flight back!

That's a good rate for two rooms Andru - I was budgetting for up to £140 for one inc. parking!

Where did you get from plse?

I used the internet via here to check room availability and then rang the direct. £200 for 2 adjoining rooms including breakfast. Bargain!

Cheers for the info Tim, after looking at both sites decided on the Radisson, booked a family room and am looking forward to having a meal overlooking the runway the night before we fly!
