What is a good nearby hotel to Hard Rock? I arrive on a tuesday and just spending the night somewhere nearby until we check in wend. I'm looking for something that we as a family can walk our luggage over to. (Also no other properties on site please)

IMO, walking to the HRH with luggage from something offsite near the HRH isn't really an option, at least not a good one.

However, if you are coming from MCO, an option that easily meets your no transportation needed requirement is the Hyatt right in the MCO Orlando airport. You just take the elevator from the main terminal. You'll also have plenty of dining options. There's a large food court, or if you want something slightly nicer McCoy's at the Hyatt is super, with a wide variety, and open late. They also have great options for kids. They even have a rooftop pool. We've stayed there a number of times.

I have seen some folks walk from offsite (I want to say an area past Cabana Bay?), but it always looks like a rather long walk to me. IMO, this is one situation where a taxi would be well worth the money.

At Universal, you can do an early check-in at the HRH to obtain your Express Passes. The later you arrive, the more time you'll spend in line: at the park entrance, harry potter, minions, etc.If you arrive early though, you'll get much done in the first hour.

Not sure how much you are lugging, but the nearest hotels are a little over half a mile walk...DoubleTree and Holiday Inn are just across Kirkman. If you pull up Google Maps and locate HRH...then look due east, just across Kirkman is Holiday Inn and DoubleTree is across the street from it. It is a haul that crosses a major intersection (funny enough it is Major Blvd and Kirkman)...with kids in tow, I would think about Uber or Lyft, which will not restrict you to those two hotels, if you don't like them.

Thanks guys I will just take the taxi then and stay or pay the extra $100 to stay at cabana bay
