hotel message board

I know this is not a Disney question, but I am hoping that some of you can help me.
Besides a planned trip to DL I am also planning to stay in Los Angeles for about a week and wanted to find out if you would know of message/discussion boards about hotels in the US or California or Los Angeles.

Not specifically, but you're welcome to ask questions about other area hotels here. Many of us are locals and will try and help with any questions you have.

Am just looking for a good hotel in a decent area of LA and affordable too.
I have heard and read some good things about Farmer's Daughter, yes its a hotel name, lol, accross from the Farmers Market in LA.
Anyone hear of this place ? or any others they have stayed at or heard of.

I used to live in that area about 7 years ago and drove by it frequently but have never been inside of it. It look like your basic motel with exterior hallways as I recall.

There has been a lot of development in the area since I moved. If it's still there, there's a good chance it will be sandwiched in between a couple of office buildings. I would consider the area safe although, in general, I feel safer in the suburbs than in a big city like L.A. It is a very congested area. It's densely populated with a lot of cars traveling on the street. Finding parking in that area can be tough to find, even in the parking lots/garages. There are a lot of great restaurants in the area and it's not too far from Melrose.

You might want to check into motels in Santa Monica. The budget to moderate priced ones will be away from the tourist areas (read "beach"). Not as congested as the Fairfax area (where the Farmer's Daughter is located) and just as safe if not safer.
