Hotel Menage or Sheraton Park?

We stayed last week at Sheraton Park and we really liked it and their pet policy was very good. We bring our dog with us as I'm too afraid to leave him with someone.

We are already looking at doing Christmas 2013 at Disneyland, first week of December. Right now, Sheraton Park is about $1179 for 4 nights. Hotel Menage is only $970 for 4 nights.

If you had to choose, which would you pick and why?

Thanks!
Charlene :)

And how is the noise level at Hotel Menage? Can you hear the interstate from the rooms?

I've stayed at the Hotel Menage many times both as this hotel and before when it was a Holiday Inn. I love it there.

Its a short 5 min walk over the overpass to the parks but its away from the chaos of the main strip there. There is a Starbucks and a Taco Bell across the street although the restaurant in the hotel is great and very reasonable.

The pool at the hotel is gorgeous and warm and its a perfect place to watch the fireworks from.

You can hear the highway but it isn't loud in the rooms and I like being on that side of the hotel because I love being to step out of my room to watch the fireworks or see the beautiful landscaping at the pool.

If you're concerned about the highway noise you can always request a room on the other side of the hotel.

Let me know if you want me to post some pics.

We have also stayed at the Hotel Menage, and we really liked it. Although it's a remodeled "motor lodge" type of place, it's decorated like a "W Hotel". We would definitely stay there again. This was a few years ago, when it was new, so not sure how much has changed.

We usually do PriceLine, and select a 3-4 star level, and try to find a place for less than $70 a night, so we have stayed at a lot of different places in the Disney area, and have been pleased with all of them so far. So far, the nicest has been the Grand Hyatt that we snagged for $55 a night for 5 nights! If you don't go below the 3 star category on Priceline, you will most likely end up in a really nice place, if you aren't specific about exactly where you want to stay. We have always ended up within a mile or two from the park, and have saved a LOT of money by using Priceline.

Stay at the Shearton.
We stayed at Menage a few years ago and the freeway noise was deafening. Really loud, really bad---like DRIVE YOU CRAZY LOUD.

We got a really cheap deal and only needed a room for 2 nights. I will never sacrifice to save a few bucks like that again.

It's trying to be very swank and like a nightclub. Flowy fabric throughout the lobby. There is zero Disney ambiance there. And you're sitting on top of the freeway. Really bad.

Trust me, you will not regret the Sheraton or any other hotel closer in to the parks.

Just my personal thought, there's little to no way the Menage is a 5 minute walk. It's over the overpass from the HoJo and the HoJo takes 7 minutes minimum and we are pretty fast walkers.....just saying. :)
Is the Menage pet friendly? I wasn't aware.

I've never stayed at the Sheraton but we love Hotel Menage!

The pool area is so nice and I think it's the only hotel around with a 24 hour hot tub!

I stayed at the Menage when the kids were little. I think it was called something else. I had trouble sleeping with the noise. I won't stay there again on a family trip.

If you don't have a stroller or people that don't like walking over a freeway and you are not sensitive to noise, then I would consider it. It seems to be marketed toward young adults.
