Hotel Luggage Transfer Question

I know that Disney will move your luggage from one resort to another. What about perishables?

We're booked into a 1B Standard at BWV in May. I'm considering adding a cash night before we leave. The 1B Standards were almost all booked on points when I called last week, so I know the odds of getting the member cash discount are nonexistent. This may be a good opportunity to hop over to SSR for the one night.

Will they be able to move our refrigerated items for us along with the luggage? Anyone ever done this before? I'm a little worried based upon the number of posts I've read of Bell Services mishandling the simple storage of groceries, much less actually getting the items from one resort to another without spoiling.

Hmm...I know they have a place in luggage storage to keep refrigerated items for you but as for how they handle it I couldn't say as I've never tried. You don't mention if you'll have a car or not but if you will you could always drive it over to the next resort yourself. Of course that does defeat the purpose of having Disney handle your transfers.......

Hope someone will come along and post who has experienced this.

They will hold perishables for you. Package them separately - I always bring "Perishable" labels - and tell your luggage person they need refrigeration. It's always worked out fine.

As the previous poster indicates, communicate! Let the bell desk know you have perishables and mark them clearly. It's always worked for us.

Thanks for the feedback. Obviously I'd label the packages appropriately--I just wasn't certain whether Disney was equipped to transfer refrigerated and frozen items from one resort to another while maintaining the proper storage conditions.

How do you do this transfer? Just take your suitcases, etc. down to bell services and tell them the new Disney resort you are moving to or what?

Just call bell services when you are getting ready to check out and let them know that you'll need your bags transferred to the next resort. They'll have them transferred and when you get to the next resort just let them know you had your bags transferred and they'll have them retrieved from their bell services and broght to you. It's that easy. :)

We've had this experience, going from OKW to FW Cabins. Bell services at OKW came up to our room and moved everything for us. We had packed the perishables in separate bags from non-perishables. Then, what I thought was really nice, was that when we got to FW Cabins, our perishables were already in our refrigerator in our cabin.
