I made a reservation for the Liki Tiki on HotelKingdom.com . Anyhow, it asked for a deposit and the rest to be paid upon arrival. I was so excited that I grabbed it...the kids have wanted to go back so we are going to go 2 days earlier than our stay at disney, just to stay at liki tiki (and I know some don't like it, but we do). Anyhow Hotel Kingdom keeps calling me to tell me that a new requirement from the hotel came through and that I need to pay for a full night plus tax (in the agreement on the reservation made, it was a % of the total amount due). I told them that is not what was in the email that was sent after I made the reservation. They said that they had to talk to a supervisor and will call me back. Luckily the supervisor called back and I told him exactly what the email said when I booked it. He did the whole speal, well, new owners have taken over and we are all learning and there is a new requirement from the Liki Tiki about this. I called Liki Tiki and asked them about my reservation, my deposit and when the remaining balance was due and do I have to pay more before I arrive. They said that I was all set and that I just need to pay the remaining balance when I arrive. So, the supervisor calls me back and said, "well we talked to liki tiki and they are still saying that they need a full nights payment". I told him I just talked with Liki Tiki and they said that I was fine, my reservation will not be canceled and payment is due when I arrive. However, Hotel Kingdom can cancel my reservation!! So, the supervisor says, I'll call them back to see if I can get this requirement waived.
I haven't heard back yet, but I'm a bit frustrated. Has anyone else had a problem booking through HotelKingdom.com?

Yep!!!!!! THEY pulled that same crapolia on me last month at a different condo. They managed to get me mad enough i ate the 23-26 dollar cancell fee and went thru hot wire and stayed at the Crown plaza for my same stay.I had never had any problems with hotelkingdom before and have booked many a nite thru them....Maybe they are the ones going thru mgmt changes.... :confused3 :confused3 .Had to even call back and ask where my refund was......2 weeks latter.......
Maybe just a bad time for them .But i dont have time to play games .

When I did a "hotel search in Orlando" and all those pages came up, in their "brief description" it mentioned *they* would charge a deposit (10% down) and the resort/condo would charge the rest at the time of booking/reservation.

I was trying to book for Cypress Point II and decided to go through them directly as hotelkingdom.com was proving to be a major disappointment to me. I had gone through them in 03 and only had to pay the 10% down deposit of the final price and NOW they and the resort want it all. :rolleyes2

That is awful to hear. They are usually a really good company to book through. I'll be interested to see if this is an ongoing problem for people. I recommend them a lot on this board. If they start playing games w/ people though- that will change fast.

Well, they were supposed to call me back and I haven't heard from them as of yet. I'm hoping it all works out and we are still able to go to the Liki Tiki.

We are getting ready to book through Hotel Kingdom again for a stay at Cypress Pointe for this next December. When we booked through them for last December at Cypress Pointe, I remember that we had to pay for the entire stay at the time of booking. So I take it that they do different things for different places that people book?

devotedchristian: didn't you get a MUCH, MUCH higher price for Cypress Pointe if you booked with them directly??

Just wanted to post that Hotel Kingdom called and fixed the situation. Everything should be all set...and "they" are lurkers. They said they see my post on the boards :teeth:

I'm glad they fixed it for you. I have used them a few times and was satisfied with their service. :thumbsup2

Amazing how this board helps in more ways than one ;) Had they not been "lurkers" they may not have honored their email.... they do not want bad reviews.... :smooth:

I'm thinking this was just an isolated incident then, and they made it right. I'm glad they came through for you and it all worked out. They do tend to have some of the best deals going for suites/condo's in the WDW area. They've also built a great reputation among DIS members who have used them. Now, I hope you have a great trip!!! :)
