Hotel keys for everyone or just those in room?

Ok, making room reservations for 2 of the 6 in my party, but purchasing everyones park tickets with my room. Can we all get a room key for FOTL or just the two staying in the hotel (on site)?

It will be interesting to see how others answer this question. I would think you could "add" people to your existing reservation (up to the capacity of the room) and that would be the only way you could get them a room key. For FOTL access (does not include Forbidden Journey or new coaster at Universal Studios) each room key is scanned and the dates on the room key are looked at closely.

We stayed on property and were allowed 1 hour early entry to Islands of Adventure that gave us a chance to experience Harry Potter without significant crowds. We went early 3 mornings and things were a little different each day. One day we were directed thru Suessland, with our cards being checked on entry, at the end of the main street, as we entered the Harry Potter area and finally again as we went into Forbidden Journey. Another day there was less checking of the cards and on the third day we were directed to walk the opposite way (by Hulk, Spiderman around thru Jurassic Park to get to the Harry Potter area. Bottom line - everyone needs their own card and I don't think they would let a member of your party thru without a card. Good Luck.

At your normal price, you are allowed 2 adults and 3 children. Each adult over 2 (to a maximum of 5 ) will cost $25 extra per day per adult. No one in the hotel actually knows how many people are staying in your hotel room. You won't be able to get all 6 in there, however, and get room keys for them all.

Some people get hotel rooms for the express and early entrance only and don't even stay there. The hotel doesn't care as long as you are paying for it.

When we stay we always add my niece and nephew who are in Florida to our room so they have the FOTL access even though they don't stay the night with us all the time.

You could add children. Try and add another adult and you'll get charged extra, even if it is below the allowed capacity.

If some of the kids are very young they won't be asked for a room key if they are with an adult. So you could get 6 in express theoretically. My grandchildren who were in strollers were never asked for a room key or ticket, they just opened the gate for them at the park to get through.

When we were there a few weeks ago they did scan DD (7) key at every ride for express pass. Last time they hardly even looked at the tickets

They are scanning room keys for FOTL now. Every ride we went on scanned it. FOTL is lined to the room key, not the ticket so if they don't have a room key, they won't be able to use FOTL.

We had a 2 year old and a 4 year old with us. They scanned our room keys but never asked for theirs. So if the OP had 2 adults, 3 children (we'll say 16, 13 and 7) and a 3-year old I would be willing to bet they would all get in the express line.
