My DH and I always fly in the night before, because I would rather wake up in Disney on my first day than have to fly in and deal with all of that, seems like a waste of a good disney day!!
This time, we are staying at the Celebration Raddison, and it is less than $60 per night, plus they have sleep number beds so it will be good rest to get us ready for Disney!! I think the Gaylord also has some good specials right now (around $99), and I've always wanted to stay there, but we won't be getting in until around 11, so that would be a waste for us. If we were getting in earlier, I would definently consider that...![]()
Have you considered one of the Disney Value resorts?
The Holiday Inn Express is really nice and new on Palm Parkway.
Except for Hotel Plaza Blvd., you can't get any closer to Disney property than the Palm Pkwy hotels.

We did this on our last trip to WDW. We were able to change our flight about a month before we left to add an extra day, but our arrival went from 2:00pm on Sat to 11:30pm on Fri. We had already booked our time at the Contemporary, but we couldn't add the extra night because of a large conference that ate up all of the rooms. So, seeing as we were planning on going to MGM, errr Hollywood Studios, on our first day just to eat and see Osborne Lights and Fantasmic, we booked a single night at Pop, managed a good night sleep, and spent the entire day hitting the rides instead of just the two-three hours that we had originally planned. And, to top it off, we were Dreamed (won fast passes for the entire family) on our first ride of the day on Star Tours. It was awesome!![]()
You are the second person to suggest the Values. Is it kind of a hassel to get checked in and get to a room for just one night?
The Radisson Celebration is sooooo close to Disney and easy access. If you go on allears.net there are usually specials....
I need a good clean hotel just outside of Disney. We want to drive down the night before our Disney reservation begins. That way we can get an early start on our first day in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!![]()

I would be happy too!!We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn next week. We leave on Thursday and will be at Pop for the first week.
Have you ever been during the holidays??? We were there last year over Thanksgiving - we loved the decorations and all the holiday "extras".
For one night, you might be able to get a great deal on a suite at the Vistana. We stayed at the Vistana, not the Vistana Village (two different places). It's very close, very clean, and has PLENTY of room. It also comes witha full kitchen and a washer/dryer. You probably wont' use the washer dryer, but you might save some extra bucks with the kitchen. Even for just one night. The grounds are also very nice, and it's close to the outlet mall, and there's a big Publix onthe other side of the outlet mall. WDWinfo has rates at $99 for a two bedroom, which was quite large! Bigger than two rooms at AKL! With two complete bathrooms! We even had a patio with a table.
Another place that's very close and very nice is the Caribe Royal. (At least it was when I stayed there) Great Pool! Next door is the Buena Vista Suites. I haven't stayed there, but WDWinfo has a very good deal for them now. They are very close and just outside one of the better entrances. Again, with either of these you could get a room big enough for everyone for around $100.
Not really. By the time we arrived at Pop it was about 12:30am, so there was no one waiting to check in. Then, before we left for the Studios on Saturday, we asked to have our bags moved to the Contemporary. When we were done at the park, we took the shuttle to the Contemporary (which had a line 1/3rd of Pops) and checked in upon arrival around 10pm, so there again was no one waiting before us.You are the second person to suggest the Values. It was an extremely easy process for us, being only a party of four (Me, DW, DS(7) & DD(5)).
You are going to have to let me know about your stay. This is our first time at the Boardwalk Villas. We are taking our 4 young adult children on this trip. I originally had us booked into the WLV. Hubby and I love that resort. But the kids watched the planning DVD and decided the Boardwalk was the resort for them.
I am loving learning all the new things about a different resort. Yes...I'm a major planner. I'm one of the weird ones that thinks planning is a big part of the fun.
We normaly go the week after Thanksgiving. And love that time of year. But with two in college we are on a strict schedule.
HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME ON YOUR VACATION!!![]()
