I've been trying to figure out our best options for our vacation on a very limited budget. I've been researching hotel stays and I see a lot of Good Neighbor Hotels are offering 3rd night free, 4th night free, etc. Most don't give you the discount every 3rd night (or whichever promo). So I am thinking about making multiple reservations and switching hotels mid trip. I may even consider making two back-to-back reservations to the same hotel.

Has anyone ever done this? Any issues? Did you use the same reservation channel (ie: getawaytoday.com, disneyland.com, AAA)?

Any insight you can provide is appreciated.

Thank you in advance. :)

I think I would ask the hotels you are looking at. The one time I considered this (not at DL, but a similar deal in San Diego) I simply mentioned to the hotel that I was going to have to make two reservations so that I would get my 3rd night free and my 6th night free and they took care of it. I was going to make one reservation for me and one for my wife using two different credit cards but they just let me stay in the same room once I mentioned it.

Oh, this topic interests me greatly. Anyone else have tales?
OP, are you interested in trying different hotels, or is it just a hassle? The third night free deal could be a great excuse for a hotel sampler platter. ;)

We booked through Costco and are staying 10 nights - we got 3 nights free with the 3rd night free promotion.

We used GAT and received 2 free nights by staying 6 nights. We will be at the Holiday Inn Resort and theirs was for every 3rd night free. Our total is $627 for 6 nights, after taxes, etc and our room is the kids room with queen bed/bunk bed/video games. Not sure how well it will work for our family of 5 but we are looking forward to our trip down this weekend!:banana::banana::banana:

May I ask what hotel you reserved for and what time period? I'll have to look into that.

That's very interesting. May I ask if you booked online or if you called? I have been trying to book online but it only shows one night discounted and there's a message on the site that says one free night offer per reservation unless otherwise noted.

My preference would be to stay at the same hotel for the entire stay but I would consider moving if necessary. My favorite hotel is Homewood Suites but it looks like they don't have a free 4th night until after January 4 and we are planning on December 30 - January 6, 7 or 8 (depending on the deal I can get).

Of course. We are staying at the Best Western Stovall's Inn between 11.24 - 12.4

We were going to stay at BWPPI but they don't participate in the 3rd night free so we switched. Knocked $450 off of our stay. :)

We booked online and I looked at our reservation paper just to make sure....it says "For 7 days and 6 nights (2 Free Nights)". So they did give us 2 nights free....we are staying from 8/14 - 8/20. HTH!
