Interested in hearing your thoughts!

HI: Hardwood floors are a perk, and rooms with parking & breakfast built into the rate are available. Love the walk in shower, better aesthetics. Distance is a con. Is tipping expected with breakfast inclusive packages? How long do meals take?

PVI: Booked. Prior stay, know what to expect. Liked the food, distance, parking. Room was pretty nice, noises were loud.

For context, we aren't pool people and don't have children. Parking, food, cleanliness and ease of use are priorities. Worth switching?

Apologies for another hotel thread- y'all are just too helpful! :)

I'm going to say it depends... but probably Park Vue Inn. I actually haven't stayed there -- only at BWPPI in that specific area, but the proximity can't be beat. We stayed at Hotel Indigo for the first time a few years back and love the hotel (it has interior hallways!). The room itself is so cute, and I love the hardwood floors and walk in shower --but if you do stay there make sure to get a top floor room since wood floors tend to be somewhat nosier from upstairs neighbors.

What I didn't love about Hotel Indigo was the walk. In the morning it was fine, but at night we were silently cursing ourselves as we walked past motel after motel wishing we had stayed closer. Another con was that breakfast took slightly longer than I would have liked (even the day we only ordered bagels and cream cheese). The staff is very friendly though, so I didn't hold it against them too much. We did leave a few bucks each time we got breakfast -- even if you don't eat in their cafe they package everything up so nicely for you, so I like to reward their efforts.

That being said, most of the time we go to DLR we stay at GCH and usually arrive very late. We don't like spending GCH money on the first nights stay so usually stay at Hotel Indigo the first night and uber over to GCH in the morning. It's super close to Walgreens and CVS which is great for stocking up on waters and snacks. Also, the rates at Hotel Indigo are usually incredible. So my one caveat would be, if you can save a ton of money by switching to Hotel Indigo it wouldn't be a bad choice. If it's a substantial savings you could even uber or lyft back to the hotel on nights you are tired.

I can't speak to Hotel Indigo as I haven't stayed there though I know others here like it. BUT, the location of PVI is SO NICE. I would keep the reservation at PVI just for that (I have stayed at PVI before, though liked our recent stay at the Tropicana a bit more... no included breakfast though).

Here's my thought....

Its midnight. You've just spent 12+ hours at DLR and have logged a solid 8 miles on your feet. You leave Disneyland, cross the street, and turn right... Hello, Park Vue! Hello, Desert Inn, even though I don't like your hard beds! Hello, Del Sol, tucked back there! Hello, BW Anaheim Inn!.... And hello to every single motel and hotel you will pass, logging more steps, and more miles. If you're anything like me, by the time you've reached Candy Cane Inn or Castle Inn and Suites, you will be silently cursing every hotel you see that isn't yours... And then once you are on HI property, you'll curse every room that isn't yours. But, I'll admit I'm whiny at midnight after a Disney day, so we stay at Tropicana (less than $150/night usually). Sure, I still think mean things about the spoiled people at BWPPI and those with rooms in the front of the hotel ;) but its not nearly as bad as the walk to Katella and Harbor!

I've stayed at both multiple times and we will be staying at the Hotel Indigo later this year. They both are fine hotels and you will have a great time at either but there are some differences.

If you want a super close walk with a free breakfast you cannot beat the Park Vue. If you want a place that has nicer appointments, but a longer walk, (not a bad walk) stay at the Indigo. Sometimes you can find a better price (AAA) at the Indigo but not always. Both have free parking but Park Vue has a free breakfast. Both pools are nothing special. The Park Vue seems more family oriented. The hotel Indigo seems more of a adult place. The Indigo has much better restaurants within a close walk.

My wife likes the beds at the Hotel Indigo better and she cares about how the place looks. Plus we can always get a king bed there. If I had my choice, I'd stay at the Park Vue just for the proximity, but to keep the peace, we always stay at the Indigo. Either place is fine. Just go with the one that is the best fit for you.

I have never stayed at the Park Vue. I have stayed at Hotel Indigo two times and have booked a third trip for October. I initially chose this hotel due to D23 2017 due to its location between the Anaheim Convention Center and the DLR. The Hotel Indigo is what I call a boutique hotel. As some PP have indicated, the pool area is nothing special. I really haven't seen many people use it, but then again, I am usually not in the room during the day. I like the aesthetics of the Hotel Indigo, so it has quickly become my go to location.

I can see where the walk can be a detractor for some people. I actually don't mind the walk, even at the end of a long day. I equate this walk to the walk between Disney's Hollywood Studios and one of the Epcot hotels at WDW.

I have eaten breakfast there several times. I have not used the coupon/pre-paid option in the past. But if I was to use this, I would definitely tip them. The food has been really tasty and I have never had a problem with how long it has taken. Overall the staff at Hotel Indigo is very pleasant and nice.

While the Hotel Indigo is my go to place now, I still will look at other locations. But for the price and aesthetics (which is strictly a personal preference), I haven't found anything else I would like to try. As a PP has mentioned, I like the interior hallways.
