Hotel Hopping

I've been thinking about splitting our stay between a few of the resorts. Here's the question: Does Disney handle transferring the luggage from resort to resort or will I need to carry my own?

We have never done it before either, but are considering doing the AKL for our 1st night in Dec and WL the following 5 or 6...
When I called they had said that they arrange for the baggage switch!
