I realize there are a ton of threads on hotels and I promise I have spent many hours the past few days pouring through them all... but I would very much appreciate a direct answer from those who know or have an opinion on my specific question...
We've been to DL five? six? times in the past 7 years. Our very first trip in 2010, we stayed at Fairfield Inn - prior to any renovations. After that trip, we splurged on Grand Californian. Love. We've stayed at GCH ever since. We always go off-season so the price is better (except a year ago October, but we used Dave's Vacation Club to book a studio at VGC.)
This year we decided very last minute to add on to our Phoenix visit to see grandparents, a surprise trip to Disney. We're not telling the kids until we get to Seattle to switch planes... We're taking family friends with us - and their two kids - who've never been to DL. (Kids are 11, 12, 12, and 15 so no naps needed....)
Our friends aren't keen on spending the money for an on-site hotel, and we hadn't budgeted for this last minute trip, so off-site it is.
I'm trying to decide between Fairfield Inn and Park Vue (the only two hotels where I can still get a reservation.... ).
Has anyone stayed at one or the other (or both) recently willing to share their thoughts?
