Hi All

Im sorry if this has been asked a thousand or so times before but I'm new and can't find my way around very well just yet :(

My wife and I are in our late 20's and have our 10 year anniversary coming up in June next year, we are going to fly from Australia to LA to celebrate and plan to spend 3 days at the disneyland complex as part of our fortnight. (We are not taking the kids with us this trip)

I will have a hire car, but would prefer to be an easy walk to Disneyland park. I would like modern accommodation with a comfortable (Ideally king size) bed, at a good value for money price.

To give you a bit of background, we normally stay 5 star when travelling but this trip plan to spend more on outings and less on accommodation, we do not require a swimming pool or gym facility, room service would be a plus but also not a deal breaker.

Budget is not really as important as bang for buck, I'd love to be around $100 a night but i'd rather spend $150 a night if it is $50.00 better (If you know what i mean)

In order of priority:

1) proximity to the park entry gate
2) comfortable bed
3) modern
4) room service

Hope you can help! Many thanks :)

You have two options.
Forget the budget. Or forget number 1.

You can stay onsite, for $250-$500 and get 1-4.

You can stay outside of walk distance at the convention center hotels and get 2-4.

I suggest you try the Fairfiled Inn. It has #1. maybe #2, which is subjective. Borderline #3. Not #4. But will come at close to $150 a night.

If you don't mind staying in a true motel, consider the Park Vue Inn. It has some perks such as a welcome basket and snack-style dinner during a evening social hour.

Keep in mind that the room tax will be very high, 17%.

Considering the cost of airfare from Australia and that you often stay at 5 star hotels and your anniversary, stay at the Grand Californian :wizard:

A fellow Aussie here.... been to DL twice.

Both times stayed at Fairfield Inn. 10-15 mins walk, king beds that we found comfortable, reasonable modern and always clean, no room service but food available onsite and plenty of options on the doorstep.

We love
the GCH for any occasion, but since the aniversary is part I would splurg if the wallet can stand it.

I have stayed at the Good Neighbor and Disney hotels. By all means stay in one of the Disney hotels. Disney just finished remodeling parts of the regular disney hotels, I understand part of this was some new suites. The California Grand is very nice as well. Had a neighbor stayed on the "Concierge"(hope I spelled that correctly)floor at the Grand this past summer and loved it. All the extras come with the disney hotel room/suites, ie: park pass', toon town madness tickets, priority seating for shows, early admission to park, fast pass', room service, the list goes on and on. Also the DL hotels have some nice resturants, clubs, and gift shops inside them. My wife and children love the swimming pools/hot tubs. The Grand also has a guest entrance into california adventures for Disney guests, this is great! Contact Disney Travel at the main site for information. It is truly amazing how much you get from disney travel, please contact them for explanation and information.

We love the Candy Cane Inn. No room service, and it's a motel, but nice rooms, comfy beds and super easy walk to the park.

As far as being close and great beds I would go Hojo! Howard Johnson Anaheim. Their beds are the BEST! The hotel is across the street and down the end of the block! We cut through the parking lots and it makes the walk less. Use Google maps street view to "walk it" that's how I look at everything.
The beds have Down pillows, comforters, and if I remember right down pillow tops! The hotel is clean and the staff is helpful and friendly! I wish I had their beds at home! LOL!! :goodvibes

Actually, Millie's offers room service. There is a brochure in the room, then you dial that number and order, they deliver in about 30 mins.
