I am planning a trip for our family from Nov. 21-Nov 25th. My kids are 3 yrs & 20 months and it is their first trip. I am looking for a hotel with a view of the fireworks, microwave & frig, comfy beds & clean. I know that is asking for alot... but any good recommendations?? THANKS!!:goodvibes

You might try the Camelot Inn right across the street. Not sure abt the standard rooms as far as fridges or nukes though. :confused3

Hojo's anehiem. You can request a park view room (don't get top floor -skylights = BAD), They had a fridge, microwave, internet in the room (wired), GREAT pool for the kids, abuot 10 mins from the park by walking, They even now have Kids suites, the bed were comfy, overall very good experience! Plus they have entertainment club rate!!

the fairfield inn my marriot is great! we always get park views and it's like a 5-10 minute walking distance :)

I believe the Kids Suites all face toward the freeway in Bld 1. I like the skylights in Building 1, fwiw. (I like waking up to natural light or else I tend to sleep in all day when on vacation.:scared1:) The kids pool is a waterplay area, not really a pool (although they do have a real pool near building 2) and not all rooms have microwanes. Only the NQQ1 and NQQ2 rooms have them to my knowledge unless that has changed since September.

I also really like Fairfield Inn by Marriott. They also have excellent views of the fireworks which anyone staying there can access by going to the upper floors of the hotel. However, not sure if all rooms come with microwaves. OP should double check on this.

I've read a lot of positive reviews about Camelot although I've never stayed there.
Here's a great thread w/ hotel room reviews and photos:

DH and I are huge fans of the Fairfield Inn! This December will be our third stay at this location. Rooms have mini-fridges but no microwaves. If you are driving here, consider bringing an el-cheapo microwave with you. The hotel is very clean and convenient to McDonalds (same parking lot) and Mimi's Cafe. There's also a mini Pizza Hut on-site.

The Fairfield Inn is tall and has a great view of the fireworks. IMO you don't need to get a park view room to see them. All the corridors are on the outside, so all any guest needs to do is walk down the corridor a bit to the other side to see the park. Just my .02. ;)

Here are some pics I posted last spring on the King bed room:

And if you're not driving you should weigh the added cost of getting a room with a microwave vs. the cost of just buying an el cheapo one from Wal-Mart. I've bought some in the past for as cheap as $30. Then when I leave, I leave a note for the maid to keep it. If you're staying 5 days, that's less than $10 a day.

I've stayed at the Park Vue Inn before and will again in November. It was comfortable and had a microwave and fridge. They also serve a nice and free continental breakfast. The best part is that they are situated right across the street from the entrance to DLR :)
