Hi we are going to to Disneyland Oct 1-7. We have a hotel booked but due to our shrinking budget we are thinking of cancelling and booking one that is a little more budget friendly. Ideally we would like somewhere within walking distance but are ok with something on the ART routes. Looking for something in the under $100/ night range. We are considering the Days Inn Anaheim West, Days Inn and Suites near Disneyland, Days Inn Maingate, Motel 6 on Disneyland Drive. Anybody stayed at any of theses? Any suggestions of other places I should look at?

Thanks
Nicole

I haven't stayed at those, but I have stayed at the super 8 on Katella. It was clean and bare bones. On orbitz its running $84/nt for the days you'll be there. I've heard good things about the quality inn by the HOJO too. Check them out on trip advisor. You could also do a Priceline bid. You can pretty much see what you're getting on betterbidding.com

We stayed at the Day's Inn & Suites about 10 years ago and it was a dump. The Days Inn Maingate wasn't much better. I stayed at the Motel 6 on Disney Way last week. Also a dump, but very cheap, with clean rooms, and within walking distance.

Last month I stayed at Hotel Indigo. At around $135 a night, it's a little more than your stated budget, but I liked it very much. Also within easy walking distance to the parks. I know you can find the Castle Inn & Suites under $100 sometimes, as well as Anaheim Plaza. Neither are great, but they may fit the bill for what you are looking for.

You might try the Alpine Inn. Very basic, but gets the job done.

Tropicana across the street from the Maingate has a 7 day stay special rate til the end of the year. Right now the rate for your week is 109/night. No ART fares needed! I booked this hotel for 8/19 to 8/26. The rate for that week was 89/night and then went down to 79/night.(heard that here on the DIS :))
The hotel honored the new rate when I called and sent me a new confirmation with the lower rate.
I keep watching the rates and for my week they seem to fluctuate quite a bit from closed to 119/night! If you book, keep a close eye on the rates and call if they drop!
I am on a tight budget, so I book and then keep looking right up til we board that flight!

We are staying at the Tropicana too. I think they are very well priced and not having to buy ART tickets saves you a little as well :)

Has anyone stayed at the Anaheim Express inn or the Travelodge International?

When planning your budget, keep in mind there's a huge tax added on to all (?) rooms. So $100 a night is technically a bit more.

We are staying at America's Best Value Inn Anaheim, because we booked a two room site for less than 100.00 for NYE. Their breakfast is tiny (think donuts and coffee), and it is a motel, but the rooms a pretty large and each comes with a fridge and microwave. The ART can be caught at the Ramada right next door. Their currently available rooms for those dates are about $78 and up. The reviews on Tripadvisor and Yelp were not too bad. We have not stayed yet, but it seems to be a good basic motel. It is close to the garden walk and the distance is not terrible to the parks if you have to walk. They seem accommodating and there is no parking fee although they do have a $3 a day resort fee. They told us they would have no trouble letting us leave the car in the morning and come back that afternoon to check in, so they seem fairly accommodating. (and that was for NYE no less).
