Hotel Help in San Jose CA, Please

Considering flying out of San Jose Airport in CA but would need to stay in nearby hotel the night before. Was wondering, and hoping, if anyone in the area can recommend a good place to stay. Would probably need a park and fly type of deal, we'll need to keep our car at the hotel for the duration of our trip. It doesn't have to be top of the line, just very close to the airport, safe and clean.

You might also try asking down on the California sub-board. Not a lot of traffic, but you might get some locals to answer.

This might not be anything like what you're looking for, but it's the only hotel I know of in SJ, and it's in downtown. Hotel DeAnza. I got a great deal through hotels.com there a couple years ago, and LOVED staying there. But beyond that I have no clue about how far from the airport it is, etc etc.

The sad thing is I grew up in SJ, but left at 17 never to return for more than a few days visit, and I almost never went to downtown back then...downtown is a LOT nicer than it used to be!

I've lived here for the past 25 years but never stayed at any of our hotels. But I would probably just Priceline a 3* for one night (start bidding at $65<$75) and ask at checkin if they have park-n-fly. If the offer is close to $7/day, use the hotel's. If significantly over, then go to a local park-n-fly and use their shuttle.

The closest hotel is probably the Doubletree but it can be pricey. The SJ Garden hotel has gone through many owner/management changes so, YMMV. I would probably choose Staybridge as it is newer.
