We are heading to Salisbury University in Salisbury MD this weekend. DS21 Football team is in the NCAA Division 3 Playoff game. Our trip is roughly 6.5 hrs away ( coming from CT). We are tentatively planning on driving down on Friday stay the night and then head to the game at noon on Saturday.

Does anyone have any hotel suggestions in the area? We don't mind staying an hr or so away from the game since we will have some time to continue to travel on early Saturday AM. Hoping to find a hotel that also offers breaksfast in the cost.

We are a family of 5 that is traveling -2 adults- 4DC ages 4-12. We have had luck with Hampton inn and suites but haven't found one similar to where we stayed elsewhere. not opposed to 2 rooms either.

We only know part of the trip from traveling to the Autotrain every August.

We plan on heading home after the game bc DS12 has a youth football super bowl game on Sunday at noon so we need to get him back in time.

Any assistance with the area would be great.

I'm not really sure about hotels. But I know you don't want to stay in NJ.You will be at least 2 hours away and if you stay in the southern NJ you would have to take the ferry over to Lewis DE. So stay more in DE and MD.

Would she really need the ferry? My parents used to live near Salisbury MD (in the lower part of Delaware) and we drove=no ferry.

I'm in South Jersey and it took about 2.5 hours one way so a S.Jersey hotel would be too far either way.

I'm not that familiar with DE, but maybe something in PA--not far from PA/DE line might be good, or even the Wilmington area?

I live in PA and near the DE border. We are more than 2 hours away from Salisbury. I think we are a little too far from where the OP needs to go. But there are a lot of very nice hotels and inns in our area if you ever want to visit the Brandywine Valley.:)

South jersey is at least 2hours.But Southern NJ is Jersey shore area. So yes the ferry would be needed. If not it would be a 4 hour drive. Either way Jersey isn't a good choice.

South Jersey may not be shore area. I'm in South Jersey near Philly and I didn't use the ferry.

I remember just driving, driving, driving..
