My husband gave me our anniversary gift a little early:

2 tickets to see Chicago at the Wang Theater!

I am so excited! He said he wants his gift to be the hotel.;)

Any suggestions as to where to stay? My goal is to find someplace near the theater so we can walk to the show and possibly have dinner before also within walking distance.

I have looked a bit online, but would love some "local" views! My budget would like something for $175 or less! Is that doable?

Thanks for your help!

Not sure of the cost but the Tremont Hotel is right there. If you have an Entertainment Book you can get their rate. It's a very nice hotel. Hope this helps! AND Have a WONDERFUL time!

We usually stay at the Sheraton Prudential which is nice and central, very close to the Wang, and usually has good internet rates (we got a $129 per night rate this summer). My sister stayed at the Colonnade recently and said it was really nice- esp Brasserie Jo on the ground floor.

Enjoy the show!

I really like the Tremont House hotel, so I second that idea! It is just a small, historical, lovely Boston hotel. It is really RIGHT there.

I also like Jacob Wirth's (german food) for dinner. It is kind of loud and informal, but lots of fun. www.jacobwirth.com

have lots of fun, it sounds great!

Thank you all so much for your replies! The Tremont is certain the front runner!

Don't forget to check out the WYndhams 72 hour sale. Depending on your date, rates were as low as 69.00!!!

I booked Wyndham Boston for 89.00 and I love that hotel.

MOM - Where did you find the Wyndam rate...the 72 hour sale? I can't find it......:(

The Tremont Hotel is right across the street, as close to the Wang as you can get.

There is also a Doubletree Club Hotel right behind the Wang. It just opened a couple of years ago.

There's also the Raddison, which is about three blocks from the Wang. Some friends of mine stayed there a while back, and said it was very nice.

The former Swissotel (which is now a Hyatt I think), is also very nice. It's about a five minute walk from the Wang. I stayed there a few years ago, and thought it was one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. I got a room there for about $69 on priceline.

Have a great time at the show! It's a fun one.
