Here's some recent threads on this subject:Anyone have any updated opinions on this?
If you want a budget option, Days Inn Cruiseport West. It is an older hotel and shows, but it was clean. We stayed there this past September for 70 dollars. We received a discount for breakfast at the grill attached to the lobby, price came to about 12 dollars for me, my wife, and two kids (the kids are young, so they shared a plate). They also give one of the 40% off coupons for the cruise terminal. This is right off I-95 and is about 15-20 minutes from the port.
This is not on the same level as some of the other hotels being suggested, but it is definitely an option if you are looking to save a little money and don't mind a very basic hotel. We will go back next time we depart from Port Canaveral.
No, no regular transportation provided there.Did they have shuttle transportation to the Port?
I can't imagine a taxi is very expensive and while I LOVED Residence Inn you do pay for their shuttle service. No, no regular transportation provided there.
We usually stay in Port Canaveral before our cruise (when we don't it is usually at the Hyatt or WDW). When staying in Port Canaveral we have been recently going to the Marriott Residence Inn (last five times). We absolutely love it. We have stayed at the MRI, Country Inn & Suites (disliked it a lot), the Radisson, Four Points Sheraton, Doubletree and International Palms. MRI, in my opinion, is the best of them all for us. We usually rent a car so the shuttle doesn't come into play for us.
