We are staying in POR for the first 14 nights and then moving to YC for the last 2 nights. Don't want to spend extra getting the 21 day ticket as we will only use 2 days of it. So we are thinking of doing 2 days universal at the begining of our holiday.

The 14 day ticket is being bought with the POR reservation so we can get the $550 gift card.

Do we have to use the 14 day ticket whilst we are staying in POR? or can we get the ticket 'taken off' our key to the world card and start it at any point in our holiday?

As far as I am aware your tickets are activated when you enter one of the parks for the first time, so if you are planning on doing US on the first two days and start your tickets on day 3 then you will still get the full 14 days starting on day 3.

I'm sure someone will correct me if that isn't still the case. =)

thats what i thought but dont want to risk it if we loose some days of our tickets...

Although the tickets will be on your KTTW cards they are coded seperatly and not tied to your reservation. The 14 days will start from the first day you enter a Disney park :thumbsup2

We did this last year, 16 nights at OKW, 7 nights cruise then 2 nights offsite.
Bought a 21 day ticket but wanted to use on our last day so we didn't use it for the 1st 3 days at OKW.
You don't need to have it taken off your KTTW card, even when you check out of a Disney hotel your park tickets are still valid on it, so even though we were offsite the last 3 days we accessed the parks with our KTTW cards.
