We are staying off site the week of June 24th. However, I've heard the crowds are terrible this time of the year.

Is it worth booking one night at the Royal Pacific for $200 to utilize the Hotel Express for at least two days of our visit. It's hard to justify spending money for a hotel when we already have one rented for the week.

Any suggestions would be great!

It summer, schools are out, everyone is trying to get the best deal. They will have express available, but at a higher than normal rate....probably about 50 dollars a person for one park. A lot of the hotels are sold out, or selling out. You will have a wait in express. My advice, get there early, and I mean EARLY. If you dont have your tix, be there at 8 a.m. Seriously. Get in line for the tix, get the tix, and be in the park as they open the gates a little early. Do all the big rides first. Can it be done? Yes. Will it be crowded? Yes. Will it be as crowded as disney? No.
I'm telling you though, the earlier you get there, the better off you'll be. Do Islands first. The coasters get really really busy. You're not a thrill person? Not into Coasters? DO ISLANDS FIRST! There is a lot there, and it tends to get really jammed around 2-5 p.m. If you can, leave and come back! Thats what the hotel would be a good bet for. That way you can go, swim at the pool relax, then come back. What we usually do is we go commando at Islands when it first opens. Then we stop for lunch at 11...yes its early, but its not crowded. Then we head over to the Studios by about 12 or 1...just in enough time to get Mummy and head towards MIB before the crowds really kick in. On a really busy day, we are waiting in 35 minute lines, at the most. But thats us.

we'll be there that week too (arrive 26th)...we're staying @ rpr & i am being told hotel is about sold out (rpr is the cheapest of the 3 & w/ AAA, a standard room is $191. It is definately going to be crowded, and even tho the hotels are 'costly', you are paying for the convenience of NOT standing in line all day :thumbsup2 (we wouldn't go in peak time and NOT stay onsite)

Yep...I think the hotels are booked SOLID! It is gonna be very busy there. I told DH tonight that we HAVE to sit down and start making ressies for dinner. Every time I check the website the room selections get thinner and thinner.

Not sure if this helps - but my parents own a timeshare at westgate and we still stay multiple days onsite. We always go in june/july (this year june 13 -june 24) and it is hot and crowded. It seems like kind of a waste when you are already paying for a place to stay, but not if you think about the convenience. FOTL and the luxury of going back to the hotel to beat the heat - that onsite stay is well worth it! Midday when the parks are packed you can go back, hang out at the pool, and then go back at night.

Trust me -if i covinced my dad to double dip - you should at least think about it!!! Let us know how it works out either way!

LinnieMinnie2--We just got back from UO. Yesterday, by 9:45am , the line for HULK was 30 minutes. The express pass from the hotel allowed us to ride in minutes. On Tuesday, the line for Spiderman was 45 minutes all afternoon, but we rode in 2 minutes. Staying onsite is really worth it!
