Hotel Dog Policy - Question for those who have stayed with dogs

OP has clearly stated on more than one occasion that she has the necessary documentation
I've re-read this thread four times now. I see one, maybe two posts where OP implies they have the necessary documentation. Since my reading comprehension is clearly lacking this afternoon, would it be possible for someone to indicate the post of posts where it's clearly stated?

Since you asked...

Interesting. And this is sort of what I was getting at. Historically Disney is not very consistent with the enforcement of policies. I'll still abide, but just looking to hear about experiences around their practices. Thanks.

Let me be clear, I'm not trying to get around any rules, just trying to learn the process. With that in mind, how and when it is enforced is important because it determines certain aspects of my vacation such as check-in process, housekeeping, communication with CMs, etc. Thanks everyone for your helpful input.

Once again, I read the pinned thread. I read the policy. I understand the policy. But the term "must be available upon request" is nebulous, a point you agree with in this post:

All I'm asking is for people who have stayed with dogs to share their experiences. To be clear, I have the documentation. I plan on bringing the documentation with me. I have never suggested anything other than that. I'm not sure where else this thread can go, other than to have dog owners who have brought their dogs to Disney hotels to share their experiences, which is really all I was looking for in the first place.

If that's not clear then I'm not sure what to say. But bigger picture, even if it were unclear, which I don't think it is, why would you assume the worst instead of giving the benefit of the doubt?

I think the wording of the OP and a couple early responses read as though the poster was questioning enforcement of policy rather than simply asking about check-in procedures.

Policy does not specify that documentation is required at check-in, therefore questioning enforcement doesn’t clearly translate to asking about standard procedure. Procedure may not allow for room number to be texted with a dog. Completely different question than enforcement of the dog policy.

It seems as though OP is actually asking for others to share their check-in experiences with a dog, specifically wondering if online check-in and “skip the front desk” is allowed.

I found the OP post to be confusing because all the info she wanted was in the pinned thread. It makes sense that you would have to go to the front desk, regardless if you did online check- in, to pick up the door tag and other pet items. Those items you pay for with the extra charge. If at that time they asked for the vaccination papers you should have had them in hand already. Done.

That's why.

Respectfully, none of the quoted posts clearly state that anyone has the necessary documentation - which is what the post I quoted claimed.

Now I think you're just trolling. Feel free to continue, but I'm done here.

THANK YOU! And to confirm what you're saying, both our dogs are completely up to date on their vaccinations and we have the supporting documentation. You're right, if people had just asked to clarify instead of assuming the worst then this thread wouldn't have taken the nasty turn that it did. Thank you for making that point far more eloquently than I could have. :)
Had a very similar response when I asked a dog question as well. Don’t know why it seems to be a hot button with some. Hope you have a good stay and please come back and share how your stay with a dog goes. Considering it myself.

Thanks, and yes about assuming the worst.

I guess you didnt state it in the exact desired format. Sheesh. If you are good, I can be done too. LOL

I know that some people sneak in "therapy" dogs that really arent so maybe dog owners that want to follow the rules kind of get mixed in with them? Or maybe some people just hate the idea of others traveling with dogs.

We had a horrible experience at Ohare once on the way back from visiting my in laws. We followed all rules, had no issues from NY-> Co ->NV and from NV -> OHare. We wanted to give the dogs a chance to use the bathroom so we had to go through security again. Of course we dont send the dogs through the XRay machine and had to take them out of their carrier. And, non objectively of course, they were adorable so there were many people at security wanting to say hi and pet them. One airline worker really had a problem with this, mainly the fact that we had two dogs I think (which was allowed on our airline but maybe not hers). Anyway she is causing this huge stink about how we are in violation and she's going to make sure we arent allowed to board. We had our boarding passes out (because security) and she unfortunately saw the info. She storms off and one of the security guys is there and can see how upset I am and is kind of commiserating with us about how she is a big *insert non Dis word here* but that airline workers can detain people so we better get to our gate and explain. At this point we were pretty warm and took off our outer layer so we were both in different colors than she would have remembered (not purposeful but I think it helped). We also had a habit of not going to out gate's seating but somewhere near that was less crowded when we were traveling with our dogs. So we were getting ready to set us up and have my husband go over and explain what had happened when we saw her approach our gate counter. She looked like a crazy person and the people at the counter could not care less about what she was raving about. After the gate workers dismissed her we watched her check our gate area for us, leave and come back one or two more times. She never came back at boarding time which is the one time we couldnt have as easily avoided her so maybe she needed to be at her post at that time or something but it was bonkers how badly we set her off.

It made me paranoid enough about flying with the dogs that I looked into getting them therapy status in hopes of avoiding another fiasco like this. We ultimately didnt and kept everything above board (and thankfully never had another incident like that). But, I guess dogs traveling do trigger some people.
