Hotel close to Disney for under $60???

The ways of hotels mystify me. Truly they do.

When I called in-house before, they said that the week and weekend were incredibly busy, that there were all sorts of things going on. No ent rate, very few other rooms.

So today when checking online, I noticed that the very day I asked about before, the Thursday of that trip, had an ent rate. So much for SO incredibly busy! And then Fri and Sat had the ent. rate? What?

Mystifying.

Yes.....that's crazy.:) Well, I'm glad you were able to get the ent rate online. We went last September and it is such a great time to go! Have fun!:)

I'm curious as to what months/days your reservations are for. I just tried to add on 2 extra days to ours (by phone) and they said they were entirely sold out for Wed. Dec. 5th....not just the ent. rate but no rooms available at all! Does anybody know why this might be? :)

Maybe it's the week of Candlelight Processional? It's usually the around that time of the month.

I called earlier today and it was in-house reservations that I spoke to. I was able to add on one of my two days that I wanted (at the entertainment rate), but they said they had no rooms available at all for my second day (Wed. Dec. 5th) not even if I paid the regular rate. I also wanted to change my $69/night park view room to the $54 pool view rate, but they said those rates were entirely booked for the time frame that I wanted. I'm just trying to figure out why Tuesday, Dec. 4th was available, but not Wed. Dec. 5th. It seemed odd to me, unless there is something going on that day that I don't know about. After reading your post, I just tried to check the same date (the one they said wasn't available at all ) on their on-line site and DID find regular rates (but no entertainment rates) . .....Just trying to figure out why the in-house ressies had no rooms available on that day??? I can understand if the ent. rates are sold out, but no rooms at all? Are there different rooms available on-line vs. calling the hotel directly?

Yes there are different rooms available online vs. in house. I looked online last week for a particular type of room I wanted and they didn't show it online. I called in house reservations and they sold me the last room they had available. The same thing happened last year to me. They didn't have the room type and dates that I wanted, and they advised me to call back because people do book rooms and then cancel as the date gets closer. I called 2 days in a row and the 2nd day they had the room type that I wanted for my length of stay.

Yes, the Candlelight Processional should be that week, but it would be on Saturday and Sunday. The day that I need the reservations for is the following Wednesday. We will be there for the CP on the weekend and were scheduled to leave on Monday, but I wanted to extend our stay to Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday is available, but not Wednesday and I'm just not sure why. :)

You'd think they could tell a person that, when on the phone. Of course the computer reservations can't (although there are ways...statements like "this is only available on the internet" show that there is some sort of difference, and hotels use that often), but a person on the phone could!

After I looked closer at the online site, I realize that the room I wanted wasn't available there either. I was just surprised that they had a room for Tuesday but not for the next day, Wednesday. I would think that day wouldn't be much different, but maybe there's something I don't know.:) They did say that I should call back for a cancellation, but I think I'll just go ahead and not add the extra day on even if it's available. They said that if it does become available, it would be at the regular rate, not the entertainment rate, and I'm not sure I really want to pay that much for the extra day. :)

Oh, well the in house res person I spoke with was the one who told me that the did have 1 room left in the room type that I wanted. If they don't have it they'll tell you they don't. The HOJO Anaheim has exceptional customer service. My DH only wants to stay there because they have gone over and above the call of duty so many times for us in the past. For example, they once set us up with a Notary who happened to work with them when we had real estate deal take longer to close than we thought it would. We had to do everything by phone, fax, and Fed Ex. They called us at the park to let us know that the Notary was there. (They advised us to go to the park and that they would call us so that our vacation wouldn't be interrupted more than it already was.) They took our papers from us and had Fed Ex pick them up (at no charge). After hearing some horror stories from other motels on Harbor regarding their customer service, I can't imagine those motels going the extra mile like this. I bet most of the motels would have a not-my-problem attitude, because really, it wasn't their problem. It was ours. And that's why the staff at Hojos impressed us so much. We really appreciate Willie and staff at Hojos. If they can help you, they will, but they are sold out a lot because they are so popular due to their customer service.
