I know - another hotel question :rolleyes1 - but please help!!!

I will be in DL for a weekend in October - for the 1st time as the sole adult with two kids (6 and 4). So I am looking for the best hotel - 1st criteria being close and safe - and cheap would be good too!

The ones straight across Harbour are the closest, Tropicanna, Carousel Inn and BW Park Place. They have all had good reviews on this forum, if you don't mind a little walk there is Fairfield Inn, Hojos and Candy Cane they also have their fans. Now if you want to know which is the best its all relative to what you are looking for in a Hotel as they all have their strengths and weaknesses. I only have first hand experience with Tropicanna, Carousel and Candy Cane.

Have you considered checking with HoJo for an Ent rate? That would be cheap, close and they have a great pool. :thumbsup2

I have never stayed there, but my sister recommended the Park Vue Inn, short walkiing distance, and she goes with her 2 daughters and feels safe.

I stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn and found it very safe and very clean and very close. I got the best rate from their website (not the Best Western site).

Have a great time.:goodvibes

I stayed at the Carousel Inn once and really liked how close it was. I've read really great reviews about the Candy cane Inn but have never stayed there. I know that the Park vue inn is close and CHEAP but i've read mixed reviews, although someone had mentioned that it was much improved since some recent renos.

A friend of mine stayed HOJOs Stoval's Inn and they really didn't like it. Also beware of hotels that say Main gate as that isn't necessarily true.

here is a sight with free night specials: http://www.getawaytoday.com/SpecialsFreeNights.aspx?dest_id=2

Here is a great airview of the park and the nearby hotels so you can get an idea how close they are: http://www.beachcalifornia.com/dlmp.html

BWPPI, Tropicana and Carousel Inn

I just came back and I stayed at the Tropicana. I loved it and the free continental breakfast was soooo much better then I had in other hotels.

We stay at the Annabella...the rooms are nice, they have different layouts for your needs and it is on Katella at the corner of Disneyland Drive. Takes 5 minutes to walk to DTD.

here is there website...

Last time we were there the room we had was renovated. Hardwood floors and a large HD flat panel TV that swung out from the wall to see anywhere in the room.

Adding my two cents.... Tropicana Inn. Right down from the cross walk and when you walk back at night you are surrounded by lots of people. We felt very safe at the hotel and will stay there on our next visit again.

WE've done the Tropicana twice. Very close, and I've walked around there up until 1AM by myself and felt perfectly safe. We always take advantage of the continental breakfast, too.

Best Western Park Place Inn w/ breakfast, Best Western Anaheim Inn /no Breakfast, Desert Inn and Suites/limited breakfast but it get's ya going. All good hotels and very close.

If you book early enough, say NOW, you can probably get all 3 for about $89+tax.

I will give the Tropicana the clean and close but I don't think it is cheap for what you get in my opinion. We stayed there last month and besides clean, close and decent pool that is all I can say positive. We are trying BWPPI in September.

I agree with the BWPPI. They were great!! My daughter lost her blanket at the motel and they sent it to us. I would highly reccommend them. And the location rocks!!

Try HOJO's enter. rate, we got 69 a night for a park view in December. We stayed last October, me and dd 6 and felt very safe walking back and forth.

We enjoyed the Candy Cane Inn. They have their own air-conditioned shuttle every half hour. You can walk, but I wouldn't. They include a free breakfast and have a nice, cute pool and hot tub.

If you want closer, BWPPI and also Camelot Inn. Carousel is also pretty close. We have not stayed at these.

Another vote for Best Western Park Place Inn. We have stayed there before and will stay there again in August. You can't beat the location, breakfast and the rooms were very clean and comfy.
