I going in feb, for 4 nights. traveling with my kids and my brother and his family. total of 15 (6 adults, 9 kids). we like to have some breathing room, so i was going to get 4 rooms (2 sets of 2 connecting rooms)
The question is, which hotel?

I wouldn't say money is no object, but would be willing to pay more for porto. if people feel it is worth it.
Just signed up for a lowes card, for what that is worth.
Is people suggest PB, is it worth the extra for the deluxe rooms?

Thanks everyone!!

personally i would go with hard rock hotel because of the nine kids your bringing along. also you are right next door to universal studios and citywalk.

I love PB! We were just there with our little family. I had two connecting rooms and a king room down the hall. It was lovely to have roaming room. You may even want to consider requesting a balcony room (bonus room :) I know you can get two connecting rooms one with a balcony and one without overlooking the Villa Pool room 2676 has a balcony and connects with 2674. Those are Del rooms with two queens in then with a huge bathroom with a separate tub and shower and two vanity's. You don't mention how old the kids are. Mine are little so the Nanny and 10yo dd stayed in the connecting room with the triplets that are 2. Now if you have older kids and wanted two rooms both with balcony's you might want to consider rooms over looking the beach pool. Room 2663 would give you two queen beds and balcony and room 2665 would give you a king bed with a balcony and a pull our sleeper sofa. Now about the balconies you can't not see over them so you could'nt all sit out side and chat across the way to each other they are private for all purposes and they have french doors with shears leading out to the balcony. I love PB and I recommend in the interest of saving $$ you invest in an entertainment book for your best rate. I paid 180.00 for my del pool view rooms at PBH in July and we are going again Labor Day weekend and I got the 180 rate again. Now you can get rooms there in the 159 range for garden and bayviews I think???? I requested our room 2665 again and the couple going with us is getting room 2677 about 5 doors down with a garden/pool/lagoon/ view. It was the closest King they had on that floor. I also would suggest to you Flippers Pizza as a food choice. They were able to deliver right to our room. They'll tell you they can't but star service said they could and I told them that and they did every time. Now we ordered from Flippers three times the 7 of us and not one time did we get any thing bad to eat. I was very very good. The pasta's were all excellent. I would order the triplets the kids' pasta penne kids meal for 4.99 and the portions were huge. It came in like a tin the size of a personal pan pizza with a two huge pieces of garlic bread (dad hates it when i feed the girls garlic he says it's not right to give a baby bad breathe. ) and a can of coke. It was plenty and the grown up's of course taste tested it. The Pizza's are great and cokes are .75! Sure does beat 2.75 out of that snack bar! We ordered a case from them! ENOUGH I know about flippers, but you will love it and save some bucks with that many people it'll be a fine I promise you.(Star Service will be glad to provide you with a number) Hope you have a great time which ever place you choose.

Now that I've had an opportunity to see all three hotels (I haven't stayed at RPR yet; that happens in a week or so), my observation is that the "which hotel?" question is extremely difficult to answer.

I mean, it's not like you can say "Two of them are great but the third one is a bomb." And even though there are prices differences, staying in the "cheapest" hotel will still be a pretty cool experience.

So I think the choice of "which hotel?" comes down to personal preference and that's going to be almost impossible to predict for someone you've never even laid eyes on.

I tend to prefer HRH, but my wife is in love with PBH. And yes the deluxe rooms at PBH are very nice indeed. If you want to go that route, I'd suggest asking for a room with a balcony big enough to sit out on and have breakfast.

The Loews card, BTW, gets you a choice of amenity on check in (wine, fruit basket, etc.) and free entry to the fitness centers. Since most people on this board seem to use the Entertainment or other discounted rate, it will be hard to build up credits for your stay to advance to the higher levels.
