Hotel checkout / baggage storage?

Dont know if to put this in the resort area or transportation . If it would be better in resort, please move it.

I'm thinking about changing some travel times and staying later on check out day, to allow some last minute shopping / whatever on the last day, So instead of my flight leaving at 1pm it may be leaving at 7pm. Now I dont want to drag my bags around all day and since SW isnt on the DME, do the resorts store your bags for you so you can go have fun before you have to leave the world? Could I store them there, then pick them up, get on the DME and head to MCO to check in?

You sure can. Just leave them with bell services. They will give you a claim receipt for the bags. The only thing I will recommend here is that you leave plenty of time to get your bags when you return to the resort. You should, realistically, return to the resort 45 mins before your DME pick up time. I like to make it an hour. That way, I can grab a bite to eat, have plenty of time to get my bags and then sit and relax at the bus stop.

And from what I've been seeing, if my flight is at 7pm, my DME will be around 4pm to get me to MCO by 5, or the 2 hours before rule?

So get back to the hotel at 3 to collect, my bags, 4 for DME, 5 for MCO and 7 for RL to take back over

Every halfway decent hotel in the USA stores bags for guests before check-in (same day) and after check-out (same day). WDW resorts are no different. They will store your bags for you, no problem whatsoever.
