Hotel Change Question--less than 30 days

Hi everyone!

I have a question--we are booked for 4 days later this month at the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort hotel. It just dawned on me this morning that the ART buses don't start running until 7 am and we have a ADR at Minnie's breakfast at 7:10 one morning--and I have no interest in doing Uber/Lyft because I really don't want to hassle with car seats . The hotel is a mile away and we have 3 kids and I am expecting again, so I got online to see if maybe we could switch hotels to something closer. Online, it was going to allow me to book a room at HOJO, however, when I called to switch, the cast member told me there was nothing available anywhere except where I was staying and the embassy suites 6 miles away. Is the computer glitching or should I call again later? If we have to walk the mile, no big deal, just thought it may be nice for something a little closer. Or if anyone has ever stayed at the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort, is it a terrible walk? TIA

That is my preferred off site go to hotel. Not a terrible walk...especially starting out in the AM.

You walk down Walnut to Magic Way...from there you can turn right towards ESPN Zone and enter through DTD...of if you prefer less walking, you can cut through the Chip & Dale Surface lot and hop on the M&F tram from the parking garage. There is no access through the garage or from Walnut for pedestrians. Magic Way is the only available route.

Walking is actually less time but the tram is a bit less effort.

We will usually do walk in the morning then if the trams are not super busy we will hop on those on the way out at the end of the day...otherwise we will just walk it...but I do not have little ones nor pregnant!

Hojo is defiantly closer...can you cancel your current reservation and just book direct with Hojo?

Thank you sooooo much! This makes me feel so much better! I had no idea we could use the tram either, so that's great to hear. With finding this out, I'll just stick with it-besides, we are coming from a Central Time Zone for our trip and this ADR is the day after we arrive, so hopefully, we will still be on our time and have no problems getting the kids up and around.

You might be referencing two different hotels as I see two Holiday Inns on the map - Holiday Inn & Suites at Ball & Walnut and Holiday Inn Anaheim-Resort area near the freeway.

If you are in fact staying at the latter, it is 1.5 miles away. I haven't used ART, so I don't know how convenient it is and how easy it is to manage with kids. If you are able to book at the HoJo online and cancel your reservation at Holiday Inn, I would do that. It is so nice to stay close to the park, especially with little kids. We have stayed 1+ miles away (walked to/from DL) and at the HoJo and we all much preferred the proximity of HoJo (plus they have a great kids pool). That said, if ART works for you and it is just this one walk in question, I would put the kids in a stroller and make the 1.5 mile walk.

Ahhh...yes...If it is not the HI on S. Walnut...change to closer without a doubt if walking is in your plans.

Got switched to HoJo through the phone--not sure why the first agent I spoke with told me what she did , but I'm glad it got changed and they didn't charge me a change fee

Awesome HOJO is perfect and much easier to deal with. Glad it got straightened out !

So glad for you. I think if you're not happy with your Hotel it can put a damper on your trip and HOJO's gets great reviews, and they are for sure closer!!!

I think you will LOVE Hojo's! Super customer service, easy walk (even for my 6 and 8 year olds), lovely rooms with indoor corridors, and if your kids like the water, the waterpark area is pretty awesome! Have a great trip!

That's awesome! So excited now! I have a 2 year old who has been thinking he's been a pirate the last couple days, so I'm hoping he loves the water area--I know our girls will. That is, if he decides he's a pirate that day or he could be a puppy or Lightning McQueen--just depends on his mood Thanks everyone!
