New comer to the board and looking for advice on how to get some discount on deluxe resort (preferably comtempoary of grand floridian). Hard to swallow $400 nigtly rates. Also any opinions on the wishes program with the silver package? Many thanks.

There are some great room codes valid until July 4th, when are you going?
You need to check out this site:
www.mousesavers.com

You will find the codes and prices as well as an extensive review of choices with the Silver add on.

Happy plans to you :wave2:

And welcome to the DIS.:Pinkbounc

Arriving July 5 or 6 for 6 nights. Very special trip and hoping to do it up nice for the family. Should I wait a little to see if any new discounts pop up.

Have seen list of options for silver plan just wondering if anyone has found the easy or hard to use?

I don't think it is hard to use the Silver plan, just make sure to make Priority Seating arrangements with WDW 90 days in advance.

You could book your room now and apply codes if they come out, the last round of codes had discounts for both room only and Dream Maker. AAA offers a discount which is better than nothing.

Discount codes and offers for late summer came out in May last year.

Here is more info on Silver add on from Mousesavers

The Silver Plan costs $68/night for adults and juniors (ages 10 and up) and $35/night for children (3-9). Each person gets 2 "Magical Wishes" per night, which can be used for a variety of meals and entertainment options.

However, all of the "Magical Wishes" for everyone in your party are "pooled," so each individual doesn't have to use up his or her own wishes. For instance, if you have a family of 4 and stay for 5 nights, you'll have a "pool" of 40 wishes to use. So if you have kids included in your package, you may want to think about the value of your wishes based on the average price overall. In this example, if you had 2 adults and 2 kids for 5 nights, the cost is $68 + $68 + $35 + $35 x 5 nights = $1030, divided by 40 wishes, for an average of $25.75 per wish.

Generally speaking, it's not a good use of wishes to "spend" them on meals or admissions for kids. Even though you're paying less for the kids' wishes, the value of kids' meals and admissions is a lot lower than those for adults. So try to use the wishes for the adult meals and admissions. At meals, just tell your server what you're doing.

Also, you can use your "Magical Wishes" whenever you want during the vacation. If you have 16 wishes and you want to use them all the first day, you can do that! Just be sure to use them all up, because they expire at midnight on the day you check out of your hotel.

I booked a Dream Maker Silver package through CRO last month at the regular rate (before I found this place). Arriving at The World 4/18. I've already made all our PS. Now I notice that codes have been released:

Disney's Summer Dream Maker package with Silver Plan Add-On...Code: ZWFT

Is this the same as the package I booked? (Does the 'Summer' signify any difference?)

Can I 'apply' this code this close to trip-time, with little hassle? If so, how would I go about doing it? Would I have to cancel and re-book or make changes to PS?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated -- I'm new at this 'resorts and packages' thing. The last time I was at WDW, you just walked up to the MK gate and paid your ten bucks to get in... :teeth:

It depends on availability. Call and check to see if your resort and dates are available. Would you be willing to switch resrots if necessary to get the discounts?? Just call CRO and ask about applying the code.

Probably wouldn't be willing to change resorts this time. My 4yo and 2yo absolutely had fits of delight when they saw the photos of Pop Century, and we have adjoining preferred rooms there. Besides, I'd hate to miss a chance to meet the resident celebrity (Tyler). :teeth:

Who knows, though? If the discount is worthwhile...

I'll call CRO. I'm just nervous about screwing things up this close to departure.

Thanks. :D
