I also posted this on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board but I figured it's never a bad thing to have too many suggestions...

DH and I will be spending two days at WDW (free admission on his b-day) and two days at Universal (I was lucky enough to win a ticket during the Super Bowl contest) in early June. We are Disney veterans but have never been to Universal. We are looking for a nice, not too expensive hotel that's about half-way between WDW and Universal. What area should I search on a travel site? Any help would be excellent!

I think anything around Sea World would be good...there are lots of places along that stretch of I Drive that are clean and relatively cheap. Some might even have free shuttles to Universal. I would check the Sea World area.

I agree, look around the southern end of International Drive near the Convention center. You can get to Universal from this area in 5-10 minutes and Disney in 10-15.

I stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Lake Buena Vista.

It's 10 minutes to Disney and I bit more to Universal.

It's really nice.

I stay at the Extended Stay Lake Buena Vista at 8100 Palm Parkway whenever I go. It is about 5 minutes from Downtown Disney and about 10 minutes from Universal. It is great!

Last year i stayed at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista.. and loved it.. only down fall is it is really close to the interstate but if you get on the parking lot side that won't be a problem.. it didn't bother me to be on the interstate side.. cause if you are going to the parks u are so tired that you won't here it. great prices. If not at Comfort inn stay near Lake Buena Vista. Great area.
