Has anyone stayed in Miami pre-cruise for a few nights and have a hotel they'd recommend? Our cruise leaves on a Monday and we are thinking of flying in Friday night or Saturday morning. Thinking about staying at a beach hotel? Do we want South Beach or another area? Should we rent a car for this or just uber from the airport to the hotel and then later to the port?

Travelling with my husband and two kids, ages 9 and 12.

Thanks!

The night before our trans Atlantic we're staying at the Abae Hotel. It's got a kitchenette, sitting area and great reviews. It's on Miami Beach 1.6 miles from the port. The price is great too.

We are staying at the Doubletree Biscayane Bay, it’s right by the port on the bay. We need 2 rooms and it was pretty expensive for January 3rd on the beach. I am getting a 4 bedroom suite with kitchen for 6 people, which was $200 cheaper than 2 standard rooms oceanfront.

I did see that prices are much more reasonable in the summer months. There are so many beautiful beachfront hotels. Check TripAdvisor for reviews, that’s what I do.

I looked at everything. It was a hard decision not to be on the beach, but I figured we have CC and GC.

All the best. Enjoy your cruise,

We stayed at the Royal Palm in South Beach and it was fantastic, right on the beach, and about 15 minute drive to the Port. You could basically see the port but because traffic.

Marriott Stanton (South Beach)! They even have parts of the beach with chairs reserved for their guests. The location is great!

But if the beach is not 100% necessary for you, my favorite Hotel was the Epic. It truly felt like staying at a Disney Hotel... The staff was SO NICE! :)
