hotel and cab info for alaska cruise

We cruised last year and found the Skytrain very easy to use. Buy your tickets from the machine in the station, and if you take the train from the waterfront to the airport, just make sure you get on the train that goes to the airport, not out to the suburbs (there are only two choices IIRC). The luggage company at the port (CDS?) can hold/transfer your luggage if you have time to kill between disembarking and flying home, best $40 we spent! We stayed near the airport that night and flew home the next day. Our luggage showed up at our hotel in the late afternoon as promised after we spent the day sightseeing.

Just off the Wonder...we took the taxi from the airport, it was just easier with kids and way too much luggage. $35 for a van. Stayed at the Delta Suites—great hotel, lots of room, each kid had their own bed, about five blocks from port. Definitely walkable to port unless you have way too much luggage. We booked early and used Marriott points.

We stayed at the Residence Inn on Hornby post cruise (currently there). It’s good but a bit farther from port.

We took lots of taxis, I recommend saving the number of the taxi company so you can call for one if you end up off the tourist path. We called when we seemed stuck off of Robson Street and the taxi arrived quickly.

***Also, we went to Gringo for tacos! It was quirky, friendly, and tasty. A few taco places on that street/alley in Gastown. Our one major misstep was taking a wrong turn while walking in Gastown and ending up in a very unsafe area of town. Stick to Water Street.

theres 2 little details I need to book and then were all set for our Alaska cruise

first a reasonable priced hotel sort of near the airport and cruise port--I saw on here someone stayed at a

holiday Inn but I cant find the post--

also how easy is it to get a cab from the airport to the hotel and then from hotel to port ( we have Disney transfers from the port to airport

most of the time weve been getting a car service but were trying to save some money so wondering about the cabs

any other tips or advice would be appreciated it

thanks all
We used a car service and taxis and had good experiences with both.

This is our plan. Good to know!
