Hello Disney Experts! I have been to DL 3 times and every time without fail this board has been a HUGE help at planning our trips. We are meeting another family for a fun trip to Disneyland in June. We have 3 children ages 5,9 and 11. Think I have figured out most the trip but just keep going back and forth on where to stay? I know everyone loves HOJO but they are sold out.
So I have it down to BW Park Place Inn, Candy Cane or the Fairfield Marriott.
I have reservations at BW but have heard some people complain about it???
So confused and all 3 are about the same price. We really won't be spending too much time at the hotel maybe an afternoon or two at the pool but we will be at the Park quite a bit.
If any of you have advice or strong preferences on where you like to stay I would sure love to hear them.
Really appreciate any help.
THANK YOU!
:)
It is our friends first time there and I really want them to love it!

This may not help you at all but can I throw another suggestion out there... Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate, we stayed there last year for the first time and this will now become our go to place.
The rooms are really nice and and its on the same ART as hojos so it only makes a few stop. The only negative part is that it's a tad to far for walking.

Fairfield Marriott read the reviews, a lot are now advocating this hotel as well as the hojo. Read trip advisor reports, and the threads here on what people think :)

I really like fairfeild inn I have stayed there about 4 times and it was always clean and comfortable not to mention very nice walk to DL
Have also stayed recently at the Portofino and loved it!
I am like you and don't spend much time at the hotels, or there pools. So a hotel is just for sleeping and getting cleaned up :)

I agree with it is a great place to stay but disagree that it is too far to walk. It is under 1/2 mile, an easy walk and in the time you spend waiting for ART you would be there.
We have stayed at this property numerous times have had to use ART only a couple of times and I am in my 60's.

Of the 3 you listed, I've stayed at the candy cand and the fairfield. I think I've stayed at the CCI,4 times and just once at the fairfield. Both are fine. We do like the free breakfast at the CCI, and their shuttle is great! It runs every 1/2 hour and is very dependable. The walk is about the same to either hotel, but the fairfield does not offer the shuttle or breakfast. The pool area is a little nicer at the CCI, but neither are really great. Location wise, the bw park place inn is probably best- its right across the cross walk from the park. We wanted to stay there, and try it out, this trip, but with my husband unemployed we needed something cheaper this time around.

One thing I really like about the CCI is that it is a family owned property, and has been owned by them since opening in the 50's. The grounds are beautiful and you can tell they take pride in their property.

Another vote for the FFI. We have stayed there at least 4 times and have found it to be comfortable, easy to walk to and from, and the customer service was excellent. The rooms have a refrig., but no microwave. There is a pullout singe sleeper in the chair, so rooms sleep 5 comfortably. The beds are queens and very comfy.

I have the same problem...I have looked at reviews of the residence inn and I'm thinking we may stay there. We have a 2,4,9 the 2 yr old will need naps. We thought this would be a good place for that.

This is exactly my opinion. :hippie:

I prefer the CCI just a tiny bit over the Fairfield because of the free breakfast & the free dedicated shuttle.

If you're the type to take a mid day break, the shuttle (& it's 2 min. ride) comes in handy.

I think the walk (from the CCI) is a little bit further (maybe an extra 100-150 yards) than the other two mentioned, & we always walked in the morning because the shuttle didn't leave early enough for me. But using the shuttle for the mid day break (each way) & at night (as long as it's not after the fireworks) came in handy.

But I recommend both the Fairfield & the CCI & would stay at either again.

I'd go with the CCI, nice rooms, good breakfast, great shuttle! :)

BWPPI - Location location location. Literally right across the croswalk to DL, it is close enough that you can go back to the Hotel for a mid afternoon nap when the crowds were at their worse. We did this most days and I think I would be deterred from doing this if the walk was half a mile....

Wow thank you for all of the great answers! I think I am more confused but really can't go wrong with any of those choices. I will check again to see what hotel I can get the best deal on. We are so excited to go.
I sure appreciate the responses and all of the help. You guys are great!
Do any of you have a site that you get a better deal on?
You guys do such a good job of helping one another!
:)
