Don't ya love coming up with catchy titles that will attract readers to your post?

I was cooking pancakes this morning, and didn't know if there was a griddle, or frying oan, or something equivalent to either avaiable in the kitchens of a 1 or 2-BR villa. We'll be staying at BWV with a group of 8 in June, and cooking up some hotcakes in the AM would be a quick and frugal way to get some morning energy for the whole group. If there's not one in the kitchen, I just may pack my flat griddle in a suitcase and bring it on down.

We pack ours every time. It packs nice and flat and it is much easier to cook pancakes and French toast on it than those small pans down there.

I always go out and buy a cheap pan and then I leave it there. I like to have the particular pan similar to what I have at home to do the cooking so for me it's worth it. We always use it for other things too. I also like not having to worry if the pan will be scratched when I get there from the previous cook or not.
