The more points you go up the more fantastic the incentives! 500 Points incentives are awesome! You can only received these incentives if you attend one of the events. These cannot be offered to you over the phone.
I hope all this information helps! I also hope I did not leave anything out! :)

You do not need to be a founder for this incentive, just attend one of the events!
If you have just purchased a contract they can adjust it if you attend!

That is great! I would have enjoyed that extra .61 off per point..and I used my developer points for 3 days Concierge at Grand californina, so pretty close at that level. BUT..the more you buy those incentives get very good!

Is this for add-on or for new buys? Is there a discrepancy between 200 and 250 pts. Not much difference except for an additional $2/pt discount. Thanks.

Seems the 320 pt purchase is the best deal. Potentially the highest pt purchase (320pt) will knock the $/pt to ~$80/pt. The next lower pt level (250) will still be ~$90/pt. What is 1 week RCI worth? (Maybe Dean can answer this!). Wonder what a nite @ S.F. Fairmont or Del Coronado would cost....

It is for everybody, but only if you attend! The difference is $ 850.00

Can you get the old incentives through 3-28 such as the free cruise?

depends on the night you stay and the time of year what these hotel per night fees are. the hotel coronado and fairmont don't interest me... but the mickey penthouse does lol...
Can anyone confirm they will re write your contract?? i have purchased 15 days ago so im outside the 10 day cancel period.

Thanks for the info! How many nights at the GCH for 100 points? Is that three nights?

Thanks,
Jen

By my calculations $112 per point minus $9 is $103 per point? Am I missing something?

I bought 105 points and didn't want the cruise and so it looks on the most I missed out on were the fast passes. That's OK, my kids are young and we don't do coasters so we don't do many FP anyway. And also there's the fact that I never could have made it down there for an event LOL!

The $80 would be taking into consideration the value of all the extra incentives.

That 320 looks very good - glad I'm not there 'cuz I'd hate to be tempted!!!!!

Two quick questions:

1. Did they give out any "freebies" or have any drawings?

2. Regarding re-writing/adjusting the contracts, is that only for the people who are still within the 10 day cancellation period?

Thanks much for the updates! :goodvibes:):goodvibes

Yes, they did have drawings and gave out free stuff!

I do not know about rewriting outside of your contract, you would need to ask your guide. You do need to attend one of the events the weekend to receive the special incentives options. I understand they have a stand by waiting list for those who would like to attend, so it is worth a try if you are interested.

They had a drawing. The prizes were four framed pieces of artwork. Nothing I would consider a got to have or expensive. Each adult received a DVC Folio. Everyone also received a copy of the first D23 Magazine. There were small desserts after the presentation. There was a DJ and you could have your picture taken with Mickey and Minnie or with Snow White and Dopey. There was an interesting discussion with the gentleman who oversees the Disney Files magazine and the gentleman in charge of D23.

Interestingly, it seemed like most people in the room had been on a Disney cruise at least once. On the other hand only one person had been on an Adventure by Disney and she could not remember where she went!

We went to a similar event last May at the Paradise Pier Hotel and in my opinion the May event was much better than this event. It had better food and more of it. The prizes and free stuff were better. Our family agreed that the event last night was boring compared to the May event.

I would have liked to get a Grand Californian DVC pin. Unfortunately we did not see anything like that around.

Sounds like they are having great difficulty selling a small resort many of us thought would go quickly.

What are the incentives for 500 points?

And can someone provide more details on the Adventure incentive? It sounded like for 320 pts you could get an "adventure by Disney" trip. Those trips vary in their point cost and duration, so what choices are you given as part of the incentive?

We were at the 10am Member's Event this morning. We were interested in the lower point incentives, so did not take notes about incentives for anything over 160 pts. But I am pretty sure that the 320 pt incentive included an Adventures by Disney trip for 2, but not all ABD trips were an option. I think there are around 8 or 10 choices. For a 500 pt add-on, you would get an Adventures by Disney trip for 2 and all ABD trips offered would be available to you.

For what it's worth, we were pretty disappointed in the event itself. There was 1 hour of talking about various things that did not relate to DVC or the Villas at Grand Californian (including watching two trailers for Disney movies), then about 10-15 minutes about the member event incentives with essentially no more detail than has been posted on these boards, then pastries and an excruciatingly loud DJ. There was an annoying (to us) "personality" (a performer in the persona of an over-the-top middle aged lady from Wisconsin with an intentionally shrill, nasal voice) and 4-5 drawings for small framed pictures. There was cheer-leading type screaming from the DVC employees manning the room.

We had questions about the incentives themselves and therefore needed to speak with a guide. We were given a pager and waited 15 minutes of so, then were led by a young lady upstairs. We then sat in another room with more pastries until we were again checked in. Then finally got to the guide, whose first question to us was "How many points do you want?" It took several minutes to get her listen enough to understand that we had two very simple questions. (By simple, I mean "By what date would we need to use the 3 night stay at GCH and could we get 3 rooms for 1 night instead of 1 room for 3 nights?" and "What is the season and unit size for the free RCI week-- ie, high season 2 BR, low season studio, etc?") She did not know the answer to either and had to go off somewhere to ask someone else only to give us vague answers in the end.

We were actually at the event to obtain information (about member event incentives vs other current incentives) and maybe we misunderstood what it would be about- the assumption seemed to be that everyone was there to just buy points. It was a very rah-rah-rah-our-timeshare-is-great-you-should-just-buy-now sort of thing. We felt like the event was not a good use of our time, as we never really did get our questions answered.

I will say that others seemed to be enjoying the event, so it could have just been us. Mr. Heathpack & I are very low key people who do not like screaming, excessively loud music (outside of rock concerts, which we enjoy immensely), or shrillness. Aww, shucks, now I'm making it sound like maybe we are no fun...

PS The answers to the questions were:
"By what date would we need to use the GCH 3 night stay?" Ans: "The end of DVC fiscal year, which is October 4"
"So if we couldn't use get the stay booked before Oct 4, we'd be out of luck?" Ans: "No you could use it any time."
"Any time? Before or after October 4?" Ans: "No you'd have to use if before Oct 4." OK, just forget that question...
"Could we book 3 one-night stays instead of 1 three-night stay?" Ans: "Sure, why not?"
"What unit size/season is the free RCI week?" Ans: "Anything you can get. You just have to see what's available. I think it's like having 160 points." And of course, 160 points gets you a 1 BR high season. Just forget that question, too, I guess...
