If you mean Sony A-mount, only A-mount lenses work. Those are primarily auto focus lenses, though there are some manual Rokinon lenses and others. (They aren't necessarily cheap).

If you mean E-mount -- The Sony A7/7r.. you can use almost any lens ever made, including lenses from pre-auto focus days, but you need adapters to use the lenses.

You can use older Minolta md manual lenses with a Sony dslr( a mount) you have to have a manual to af adapter. You will only to be able to shoot in manual mode. They are fun to play with and a fairly inexpensive way to add to your lens collection
